Absolutely dissatisfying aside from the cinematography.
To scale the story down a bit, this could have easily been a short film. For over 40 minutes no action is present. There isn't enough context for the viewer to understand on their own what the movie is about. Nothing makes complete sense even if you have payed very close attention to the screen. Couldn't decrypt the hidden meaning of it as well (of course if there was any). The idea is truly interesting and original, but not well executed, it is hard to keep watching at times because it gets quite boring. Or maybe I'm just not the target audience who knows. The only points I truly give are for cinematography and CGI.

rather lovely but it is also terrible
In Iceland a couple run a small sheep farm it is desolate but also rather beautiful and there is not a lot of dialogue and just the odd sounds around them. At the very beginning we hear some ponies in a blizzard and they are disturbed and there is something that moves them left and right. Later the couple look after their sheep and an ewe is giving birth. Just what is going on? It is rather lovely but it is also terrible. We are not really sure what we are seeing and later the brother joins them. He isn't happy and finds it disturbing but gradually it seems that he is like the couple that he likes this creature sheep/human. For us it is difficult just what is going on but they are so pleased although we still find it horrific, I think. Noomi Papace starred and had been in The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (2009).

    Crazy brilliant idea
This is one of the most recommended movie for those who like psychological unique thriller. This movie is amazing. Crazy idea, yet brilliant, and at some point, it is disturbing. It keeps blowing my mind everytime i see the picture of this movie passing in my socmed timeline. The ending is unforgettable, i mean like, they deserved it. I realized that this movie is not for everyone, but give it a chance and try to see from others perspective. Also, it is a bit a slow pace, it's drama after all and do not expect for stupid jump scare or anything, just enjoy the scenery and the story. Anyway, the father is badass, and you know what i mean.

    Maybe don't watch this.
I was originally gonna rate this 1 star and the star was mostly coming from the nice cinematography. I'm adding a star after reading a bit about it and understanding the metaphors a little better. If a movie is gonna be so hard to understand I'd at least like to be entertained during it, but this movie was so slow and boring I could barely stay awake. I like movies that make you think, but damn, there could've been a little more to this, it had maybe 20 lines of dialogue, I swear the goats had more lines👎🏻🐐 It was also one scene away from being a wholesome movie about loving your family despite there differences (or at least that's what I got from it minus the last ten minutes or so).

    Not the end
What is shown as the presumed end is not. Recall that Ada's father explained very carefully how to find the way home in relation to the mountain and streams. We know Ada can understand. Interesting movie.
