chelseajmbelehar - 5 May 2024 Good Family Movie Just looking at it as a family movie it was good. Always good to question things and have values. Then stick to them!
The animation is just like any other movie now a days which is boring. Especially since Red looked like a fish version of Toothless from How To Train your Dragon.
The fact that there was no musical number more than the celebration sea chantey was really a relief.
The characters all had a purpose even just minor characters who have no name, they didn't mean to be bigger than life they were just good side characters.
As an adult watching this is one of the few movies made recently that I would actually buy for my kids. No deeper or hidden meanings. Just a simple kids movie with adventure and some wholesomeness.
Lassaed_Bayoudh - 11 May 2023 Fantastic movie This is an excellent film with fantastic and smooth dialogue, an intriguing story, and beautiful cinematography. Those who watch this film deeply will realize that it presents several symbolic messages, primarily ethical and humanistic ones. It tackles the topic of preconceived judgments and the inherited beliefs passed down through generations, openly urging critical and skeptical thinking about that inheritance. It is an audacious film that alerts us to the possibility that our heroes may engage in a wrongful battle and be deceived. Regardless of age, this film is enjoyable, captivating, and excellent. I highly recommend watching it.
zinger_fox - 21 March 2023 Even if it's a slight copy from httyd it still NAILED it ! This movie is great and amazing you might get a little fimiliar with the story because it took inspiration from the story of HTTYD which I didn't like at start but by the end of the movie I was happy that this movie was made .
This movie might not be one of my top 15 atleast but it's still enjoyable the characters are great the Scottish accent is great here I like the vibe that it gives, ships and pirates and monsters that vibe is so cool ! And one thing I loved and I don't think anyone mentioned it about this movie is the colour red in it , they didn't choose the normal looking red they chose a great shade of it which makes this movie non forgettable for me ! I suggest watching this !
TharsheyN - 18 November 2022 Predictable But Enjoyable! The Sea Beast is nothing special, it has a simple but fun storyline, good animation and good voice actors. The movie is about a young girl who wants to become a hunter (Hunt's Sea Monsters), but ends up discovering that they're not dangerous or out to murder humans and are instead just defending themselves against the humans who want to kill them. By the end she convinces everyone else of the same and monsters and humans live together in peace and happiness.
Sound familiar at all? Well it does to me as well... The name "How To Train Your Dragon" come to mind? It does to mine anyway. The story to me feels copy pasted from there, but anyway I still enjoyed it and it's a fun movie to watch. So enjoy it for what it is.
A 7/10 from me, Love Karl Urban as Jacob btw.
destructostorm - 25 September 2022 The best animated pirate film You can tell that the director had some serious vision about the pirate world and wanted to make it come to sight as much as possible(offcourse bloodshed cannot be shown in these films). The film has a steady pace and keeps bringing in one or other parts. The sea beast(especailly Red) definitely reminds of 'How to Train your dragon' because the heart of it is similar but theres more with political point that is shown and such small improvements are always fun to look at. Every Disney and DreamWorks animated film lover will for sure love this film and it deserves that. A Wonderful Watch and it also has some nice lines.
sbweightman - 30 August 2022 Starts off great, but gets too silly and twee by the end. It starts off great as a rip-roaring sea faring adventure with a solid premise and over the top acrobatic action, but ends up spoiled by being too twee and childish with its moral agenda. The animation is superb but the beasts are quite basic looking and don't look menacing. The cute one does look cute and is quite funny, but the main beast is little more than a shape with eyes. Great music, some good humour and a multi-cultural cast of albeit stereotypical characters means there's still stuff to enjoy, but it gets too silly and didn't live up to its initial impression.
