imLuzNoceda - 10 May 2024 The best animation I've ever watched - TURNING RED Actually, my encounter with the movie dates back to 1 year ago. While scrolling through Instagram, they said that this animation was cringe and very bad compared to old Pixar productions. When I looked at the reels video, I really believed that the movie was cringe because the person who shared it cut the movie too much. And recently, I think 2-3 days ago, I went back a lot in the posts saved on Instagram and found the reels saying that the movie was cringe (probably the person who shared it did not watch the movie). And I wondered if I should break my prejudices and watch it. I watched the trailer first and it looked pretty nice, then tonight I watched the movie from start to finish and TURNING RED was, in one word, AMAZING. The animation has a very good narrative and the animation quality was perfect and it was the best animated movie I have ever watched. If you have any prejudices, break it and watch TURNING REDI. Enjoy watching in advance.

as-43547 - 28 January 2024 so damn cute , funny , relabtable , emotional rollercoster , mother- daughter duo , feel good about all of your sides & awesome songs. can never forget friendship TURNING RED is a whole package. This movie is so relatable coming from ASIAN girl herself. Somewhere in life asian people always look for approval from their parents exactly like in this movie. This movie is about embracing & accepting all of your sides. Every character is so fresh and unique in their own way. I love how Abby starts to speak Korean in between it is so hilarious, Priya is so chill and Meriam talks on behalf of her if someone teases her. Every character complements each other. The mother-daughter duo is nice, and I would never change anything. When even Mother was scared about the whole panda thing her friends didn't treat her differently and supported her in every decision. Friendship is incredible here. The animation is very good here, and Daddy's cooking scene is jaw-dropping. I can't go without saying about 4*TOWN music is impeccable here.
madwilly - 10 December 2023 Surprisingly Good This wasn't really on my radar, as family friendly animation isn't really my jam. But I watched it on the recommendation of some friends and I had a great time. It was funny and heartfelt and the animation was great. I like that it tackled some awkward issues with a combination of sincerity and humor. The relationship between the girls was a delight to watch. The mother/daughter relationships were harder, but poignant and honestly had me misty eyed a couple times. I almost skipped this movie completely, but ended up watching it several times with no regrets. I would recommend it to everyone who isn't a prude.
raben-81146 - 22 December 2022 Come on you red Spring 2022. Turning Red VS Sonic 2 also starring a red animal called Knuckles. In this Oscar fron runner movie we follow a Chinese family in Toronto where past and present collides, as the girl one of the dubs from My Little Pony Generation 5 in our story turns into a panda by having big emotional behaviors and joins the league of red haired Disney females. It all ends in a family brawl in style of Shazam as the teens is at an pop concert, and of course the girl keeps her panda shape shifting to spawn a sequel or mini series. Some males may think this is a teenie cartoon, but there are lots of action and other worldly lore too.
brianjohnson-20043 - 7 November 2022 Not a good balance of "comedy" and drama and a story which was hard to take seriously Maybe there is just something about me, but I wasn't very entertained or emotionally moved by this movie. Sure I wasn't the target demographic. I'm not a teen of female or Asian or from Canada like the main character. I did however live through the early 2000s at about the same age of the main character. I can recall what girls around my age were like around middle school and was familiar with feeling like my parents didn't understand my needs as a teenager like most teenagers in the digital, but pre-smartphone era. And I did feel live with being held to higher educational standards than others kids my age around the early 2000s. The movie 8th Grade seemed to offer a better look at an option for how to take the coming of age experience as a drama. And something like Inside Out offered some good sequences for how that kind of story could be handled at times comedically. I just didn't feel like the changes in drama and comedy were natural for the story. They just felt forced as a desperate attempt to keep the viewer attentive, and interested from moment to moment.
The animation and voice acting were nothing to write home about positively or negatively. Overall the story and style seemed to be trying to be too much. And didn't get me to laugh appreciatively about it And not in a clever allegorical way. But in a bash you over the head kind of way. Hopefully 2023 will be a better year for Pixar than 2022.
kdeshlerrf - 30 September 2022 I'm seeing RED!! Omg!! Just No!! Hideously Horrible!!!! Worst movie I have ever seen. Panda looks like a cheap, big plushy from the old style claw machines. All characters are over the top annoying. Typical Disney - all male characters are wimps. Kids twerking, disobeying, sneaking out and lying to parents is all applauded as growing up. Although the mother in this movie embarrassed the main girl with showing up at her school with feminine pads and the many "in your face" references to her getting her period, I didn't make the connection that the main girl turning into the big hideous "Red Panda" was her getting her period. (I had to read that in another review to get that connection). Also there's ceremonial rituals that the elder women perform on the girl that make her rise up in the air and contort in weird positions (reminded me of some of the horror killings if characters in Stranger Things Season 4). Nightmare Fuel for mist. Not one redeeming quality in this movie. Don't watch! Complete waste of an evening. Stay away!
