Everything you wanted could have been done better.
    Film Review: Jurassic World, Dominion

Plot and Writing "Jurassic World: Dominion" opens with a gripping portrayal of humans coexisting with dinosaurs, showcasing diverse reactions and the majestic beauty of these creatures. However, the film struggles with its dual plotlines, one of which-focused on Biocyn's creation of super locusts targeting rival crops-feels out of place in a dinosaur survival story. The motivations behind Biocyn's actions remain unclear, and the overuse of growling and snarling effects undermines the tension, making the dinosaurs feel like secondary elements rather than the main focus.

    Rating: 5/10

Characters and Performances The blended family dynamic featuring Pratt and Howard provides a comforting familiarity, while the return of fan-favorite velociraptor Blue is underutilized. The reappearance of original characters like Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), Alan Grant, and Ian Malcolm brings excitement, though their roles often feel wasted on less engaging subplots. The attempt to redeem Henry Wu and revive Dodgeson's character falls flat, failing to evoke much interest.

    Rating: 6/10

Pacing The film's pacing suffers from a slow start and an uneven buildup of stakes. While the action sequences and chases are entertaining, they often stretch believability and lack originality, making the film feel like a series of repetitive chase scenes.

    Rating: 2/10

Direction/Cinematography The action sequences are marred by blurriness, and attempts at nostalgic cinematography often miss the mark. Chris Pratt's repetitive hand-extending gesture to calm dinosaurs becomes tiresome. The frequent encounters with new deadly dinosaurs, meant to build suspense, feel contrived and overdone.

    Rating: 4/10

Visual Effects The fast-paced action scenes detract from the detailed depiction of dinosaurs, and the use of animatronics often looks cheap rather than nostalgic. Wide panning shots and CGI, such as the flaming locusts, are visually stunning, but close-up animatronic dinosaurs disrupt the immersion.

    Rating: 4/10

Sound The soundtrack effectively uses soothing music to evoke empathy for dinosaurs and employs epic trumpet and brass for scale. The classic theme returns with Alan Grant, adding a nostalgic touch. However, excessive roaring detracts from scenes needing tension, though the slow piano theme at the end provides a fitting nostalgic close to the saga.

    Rating: 4/10

Overall "Jurassic World: Dominion" is a mixed bag, with strong performances and moments of visual and auditory brilliance overshadowed by a disjointed plot and pacing issues. Despite its ambitious scope, it fails to fully capture the magic of its predecessors.

    Overall Rating: 4.3/10.

    They just get worse!
Jurassic Park was a genuine 10/10 movie. It had everything and was watchable to all ages and tastes. The second and third were pretty good two but I'd read the books by then so they had a lot to live up to.... and didn't quite manage it.

Jurassic World was a good concept but they missed the opportunity to make it worthy of the franchise. Too much CGI and not much character.

Since then they seem to be riding it for all they can. Trouble us you can't ride a dead horse. The new characters are shallow despite being top actors, the old characters are a hard sell for me. Theres no wow factor and no real storytelling in this latest installment. I found myself being very easily distracted while trying to watch this and that says it all.

Dinosaurs meets a cheap Jason Bourne rip off
Spare yourself a couple of hours of your life and never watch this film. It is terrible.

The introduction of Jurassic creatures in modern life feels cheap, poorly thought out, and predictable. Underneath it all, once more, there is some silly chemicals company in it for themselves who seek to gain footing on the stock market through exploitation.

The screen play is just daft, poorly considered, and blunts the once genuine threat of dinosaurs to human kind. Instead, you'll find yourself washed up with a stupid mix of Jurassic park meets Jason Bourne (neither done at all well) where you'll wish you never pressed play on this film.

    Formulaic
The Jurassic Park franchise has become heavily ruined by production companies looking to make a quick buck. This film does not build anything unique beyond its predecessors. The "villain" isn't at all compelling. It's the same wash and rinse cycle of using dinosaurs for our own gains and then deciding "maybe we shouldn't do that".

It's nice to see the old crowd of characters back together but a bit of a travesty they had to come together in this film. It's incredibly derivative and lacking any originality. Never the less, if you're new to the franchise and want a bit of CGI and action, the visuals are impressive enough to keep watching.

    I have never
Seen a Jurrasssic Park movie ever, cause I just figured the writing would be very sparse owing to big monsters all around and I love a well crafted script more than anything in the world literally and figuratively! But I have to say, after watching this on Prime cause it was so for free I was like what the heck did I just watch, this was truly a work of art! I have to say, I was expecting a very low level script owing to giving more time to big like dumb fights that mean nothing in storytelling! But not here, they were put in with extremely good timing so that not to make it feel like a some odd contrivance! But the dialogue was spot on , a few things I would of tweaked here and there entering some scenes and maybe leaving them, mainly at the beginning but after the set up I was like this is adorable and the star-studed cast was so much fun and it worked remarkably well together! I Mean I would of given it a lil' more more sweetness by opting for a comedic pump-up in a few scenes but that's it! Otherwise I found the ride to be so exciting and really darling and my favorite part was the end! I just felt like it all worked so well and the message was so worth! I think who ever downs this should really re-think it cause it really was something terribly fun! I just want to commend everyone involved in this thing! I never thought these big budget films could deliver without just relying on their main vehicle to entertain and that's long action sequences that sometimes make me go like why? But this never made me ask why! Sure some of the things were a lil' too fast and strong for like a scooter-bike but I never once was like this is not cool! Cause it so totally was and is! Yes give it a shot! I just have this really cool feeling you will love it was well! Maybe don't compare it to the other ones , like I said I'm a lil' virgin but I'm definitely a whore when it comes to the wonderful gift of story! Most def!

    Ruined the Franchise
I had high hopes for this movie. The first three Jurassic Park movies were good. The first Jurassic World was good. This last one was the absolute worst. It looked like a takeoff of Jurassic Park movies.

I thought having the three main characters from the first movie, along with B. D. Wong along with the two main characters from Jurassic World would be great to see. Neither group had any chemistry with the other group. It was clear that Chris Pratt was out of his league. And while I really like Bryce Dallas Howard, she was not given nearly enough to do. The whole idea of dinosaurs taking over the world just seems hokey to me.

    Don't waste your time.

    A confusing story, very underwhelming
I have to admit, I had such high hopes for this movie after seeing Fallen Kingdom and absolutely loving it. However, Dominion fell short on so many things. Yes, the original cast was reunited and that would normally make the film better, but the movie just felt rushed and the actors just didn't have that spark that they did in previous movies. I would have liked to see much more dinosaur action, though. I mean, if you're going to give us a confusing enough storyline to follow that branches off into so many directions in Dominion, at least include the animal that made the franchise so popular. Maisie was really annoying and just not a likable character, and her storyline was very stupid, in my opinion. She was just another character, easily forgettable. I ended up almost falling asleep because Dominion was just so boring and the storyline was hard to catch up with. Watched it with my grandparents in the theater and was very underwhelmed, and watched it with my parents and they said it was garbage. It's a shame, because the movie had so much potential, but they didn't plan it out right and it was just another forgettable film of 2022. Very disappointed in the movie.

Typical storyline of some people saving the world
Nothing really special or new in this film. They have Same typical "heroes save the day" type of plot. The movie doesn't really spark any new feeling... Just watch to while away time. The beginning was good, had some decent action but moving on they lacked plot and everything was feeling similar all of a sudden. All in all, watch it just to while away your time...it really doesn't contain much. The workers at biosyn we never knew how they escaoed, what helped them escape but all we saw was them running everywhere. Like I said...the plot is just about average... Expect nothing new. It's good film to while away time.

    Franchise Fizzled
I'm so glad this wasn't the first movie in the franchise because I would have never seen the rest. I was hoping it would end with a bang, instead it was a dud. The storyline is so far off from the original plot, it's difficult to stay engaged from minutes one. I was excited to see the original characters, but circumstances of how they reunite is so far fetched it's ridiculous and unbelievable.

Bland and everything I hate about modern movies.
This is the first time I've been bored in a Jurassic Park movie.

Everything in it feels so flat and bland. I know that when watching blockbuster movies that there's plenty of room for the unbelievable and you have to take certain things with a pinch of a salt. Normally I can switch off to things like that and let my brain cells melt away. That's part of the fun, and sometimes I seek that. But with very little redeeming things about it, the dumbness and implausible scenarios stand out. Too many cliches and too many predictable scenarios and plot points. Plus it doesn't really feel about dinosaurs anymore either.

I didn't even care about any of the characters and part of me was egging on the dinos to devour every last one of them.

It's a shame that the movie that collides the classic characters and the newer characters is this one. This beyond mediocre and boring mess of a film.
