Listen to the nerds and geeks!
One of the best things about "Revenge of the Nerds" and "The Big Bang Theory" was that they dignified nerds and geeks, respectively. We get more of that with "The Mitchells vs the Machines". In this Academy Award-nominated outing, an aspiring film student is taking a cross-country trip with her family when an artificial intelligence designed by a tech bro goes rogue and tries to take over the world. Probably something to be concerned about.

In addition to making a geeky teenage girl the protagonist, the movie also warns us about what society could become if everyone stares at their phones all day. But all that's secondary to the zany humor. It strikes me as the sort of movie that they had a lot of fun making, especially the scenes of the dog. You're sure to love it.
