Loosely based on the book and unrealistic.
This is so loosely based off the book which bothers me. First off she's a college student, not a drug addict. Second, she's supposed to be in school in Colorado and gets stuck on the way to Utah. Third, they show it snowing in Sacramento; I grew up there, it doesn't snow like that. Fourth, I hate how the characters barely talked to reveal more of the story. Fifth, the movie makes Darby look like she does nothing to try and save Jay. Sixth, Ed is supposed to be a drunk alcoholic who doesn't do anything. Seventh, you can't shoot nails at a long distance and harm someone. Eight, Jay is supposed to play a larger role in helping Darby.

I understand movies normally don't follow books to a T but the book is amazing and should've been followed more closely.

    Read the book
I read the book the previous weekend and was pretty excited to see it was also a movie. However, the movie lacks so much compared to the book. First off- I'm not sure why they changed the story line to her being in rehab as the whole point of the story is she is just an average college kid. Ash was supposed to be likeable in the beginning and you're supposed to feel like he's a good guy (until he isn't). Lastly, a lot of the dialogue just felt forced and not true to what the storyline is supposed to be. And why did we get the Allstate guy to become an actor 😭. Overall, the movie is meh and I'd recommend reading the book instead.

Not bad. Final 20 minutes disappointing.
Not a bad film. I liked the premise, and it was nice to see that the protagonist's addiction wasn't used to demonise her.

A few too many twists and shocks that just didn't hit the mark at all, but these were easy to overlook as the film was fast paced and didn't appear to take itself too seriously.

The final 20 minutes were disappointing. Logic was thrown out the window in order to add shock and suspense that just didn't engage me at all. It became a predictable race to finish the line, with a bland, predictable resolution and fade-to-black.

It's worth a watch, and I expect the cast and crew to go on to bigger and better things, but it isn't one I'll revisit.

    Deserves better rating
I found this cruising on Hulu and had been watching mediocre horror/thriller movies all day. The description for this didn't do it justice. I don't think it's overall rating does either. I'm just not sure how they could make the description better without giving it away. I can say it was exceptionally better than what I was originally expecting. A welcome surprise. The movie isn't even over, but I paused it to leave a review. Instantly captivating, which many movies aren't. Often it takes forever to catch your attention. Making it's a slow anticipated "thriller" which is boring throughout leaving you disappointed at the end being a massive waste of time. My interest however steadily increased, making it all the more exciting. I'd call this stressful in a good way, something I'd expect from a thriller which is rarely delivered. I was stressed to see how things played out, what would happen next and how are they going to get out of this one? A solid film from beginning to end with little to no lag.

    A refreshing little film
After a glut of bland poorly made CGI ridden messes, this is a rare low budget gem.

We enjoyed the suspense, pace and the fact it did keep us enthralled. It might not be the best film ever, but certainly seemed to do very well with what it had to work with.

Perhaps a little cliche in parts, it was original enough to be engaged with.

The cast was ok, and the script passable.

The lead female was well written I think, and did well to push female heroes. She would fit neatly into the Ripley or Sarah Conner group, rather than Captain Marvel or Rei Skywalker.

Please Hollywood, give us more female hero leads like this, where the lead grows in character and isn't handed a free pass without any character development.

[6.3] The blizzard that didn't feel frosty
Dear viewers, don't look at and take into account my ratings if you enjoyed this movie like me. I always rate complexly and my ratings may reflect the true quality of No Exit.

That said, I completely agree that, that was a (very) good film in its acting (very good on its own terms), especially the lead that expressed pain, "desarroi" , dismay and fierceness all the way.

The flow and vibe were nicely put together in that sort of claustrophobic atmosphere / location with having very well imagined and set up thrill and many (gory) VFX, besides the blood. It takes imagination and courage for that. Congrats.

Had it not been for the sort of unacceptable logic in many scenes, No Exit would have had a ratings of over or near 8.

That doesn't diminish the quality of the movie. It well passed my expectations, was way better than I thought and I truly enjoyed it.

Kudos Damien Power and your "team" of writers.

    P. S. Mila Harris (Jay) shines in it, plays very well and her normal shots at her house are very sweet and flourishly devilish. She would have a nice career ahead and has the potential for that.
