A Perfect Tribute for our 1983 Cricket World Cup Heroes.
1983, the year when India lifted the World Cup from hot favorites 'West Indies' in the finals of Lords ground; My father was a teenager , Indira Gandhi was the Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi yet to come in the Indian Politics.

So yeah! I have witnessed the Victory journey of our 1983 cricket world cup Heroes through a film here. I needed a detox film related to India's Victory especially after seeing India got defeated by Aussies in the 2023 World Cup final, under the leadership of Hitman Rohit Sharma despite such dominant performance throughout the tournament.. I got depressed for last 2 days because of India's World Cup Final defeat.. So this was a much needed movie for me..

Ranveer Singh, was he there in this entire movie? Nah You can't find him in this movie. That was a carbon copy of Kapil Dev. Ranveer as Kapil did perfect justice to his character whether it's his way of talking or walking style. He also perfectly copied his bowling and batting style .

It's a complete Family movie and Songs, BGMs are also perfectly blended here.. Loved to watch this movie and I will go with 7 out of 10 Stars for it..

Finally A Movie About The Epic '83 Final!
This is great movie; not only was the script already a movie waiting-to-happen; but the movie is 100% realistic on an epic period for one of the greatest sports of all-time; cricket!

The film really does an excellent job of capturing the game in all its beauty. How many football movies do you see which are just cheesy or wrong or just stupid? This is an excellent historical observation with fine camera work capturing one of the most magnificent eras of cricket and maybe the greatest shock tournament in the history of all sports!

To really understand this you have to go back to a time when cricket was popular in India but not celebrated like it is now. This is before the Tendulker greatness era and the very first wave of Indian superstar cricketers.

This is before 20-20 and 100 ball cricket. This is 60 overs and the biggest competition in the world. It's also set in glorious English county cricket grounds and the epicentre of cricket itself; Lords!

The movie is fabulous. I really am finally glad that there's a cricket movie. This has been done so very well. I'd love a follow-up on the great Tendulker period and his average of over 50 in a test. Remarkable.

To really understand how passionate India is at cricket and what units the country the most is to watch cricket. This film exemplifies just how important cricket is when there was a time of much religious and extreme political tensions.

I am very glad that this has been done and the homage is perfect. Sure there are a few goofs such as modern cars not erased in long shots and modern buildings by Chelmsford's (my local team) ground and suchlike but I guess this was a limited-budget production and unable to do so.

The acting and drama and gamesmanship and quips are all perfect homage to the game and how it's played. The superiority of the English Cricket Board is there to see. It's always been too arrogant. The Indians won't be taken for a ridge and overcome every weakness and hindrance to become world champions.

Special credit for the actor playing Viv Richards. It was like watching old footage on You Tube!

    Immense movie. 10/10.

A must watch sports drama after long time
This movie tells the story behind India's win on cricket wrold cup of 1983.

This movie has a lot of pros compared to cons.

Pros:- 1. Casting is fantastic. Everyone has done their acting part very good.

    2. Pankaj Tripathi as PR Mansingh is eye pleasing.

    3. Graphics and VFX is very convincing. Makers have done a fantastic job in creating the ambience of 1983 and that's the most interesting part of the movie. Some with zero interest in cricket should also watch this movie to experience the graphic design.

    4. Very much detailed screenply, which includes the daily life and of indian cricket team.

    5. Screenplay is very engaging. Never gives a chance to leave the sit while watching this movie.

Cons:- According to me the only con of this film is the length. A film with more than 2.75 hrs in 2021 is definitely a lenghty film. But that length is utilized well.

Just one line to say, definitely a very good sports biopic film after a long time gap after MS Dhoni: The Untold Story.

Not a bio pic but a must watch
It's emotional (if you are Indian) and it's entertaining. As usual lot of fiction BS is added but overall one can enjoy this reminder of an epic moment in the history of cricket! That being said if you understand cricket, if you understand biopics you will NOT like it: it's a joke from a technical perspective.
