    Generic again
Another hotchpotch superhero movie, this time from DC. BLACK ADAM tells the little-known story of this random immortal guy, played by Dwayne Johnson in a figure-hugging suit, who saves some made-up Middle Eastern country from the usual generic bad guys. Thankfully this is a film that eschews the usual laborious set-up in favour of hitting the ground running, and inevitably it has a wealth of CGI augmented action throughout. As usual, the problems involve endless cliches, a generic feel to the proceedings, no real stakes, no characterisation, and annoying human characters supplying unwanted comic relief.

Watched the listened to audio since so predictable.
I watched 2 min of it then started to do chores. The script was so lame I could figure out the catch phrases even before the ''hero'' said them. What happened to good people? All we have are criminals or enablers in this ''movie''. It feel Llke movies are now amoral but critical of law at the same time. Even without viewing I could literally predict the plot with sound. This movie is so week it's as useful as klenex. Special effects ok so let AI make all the next movies and it might get better. Zero realism, stranger talking to children, a theif hero and terrorist hero's. It's no wonder I do not watch/recommend garbage coming out of holiwood anymore.

This st is gonna get real this time
Bro anthoer master disasster from DC with the same formila of New star wars movie When does movie creators will understand that it's not work so why to insist?

Make films that are not affected by political opinions, people come to see a film to escape from reality not to see it in every film with the same failed feature, it was possible to take this film to a thousand different places and yet they chose to follow this failed path and not just people hardly give it a good grade And that's because of effects and rare moments of brilliance here and there, it's just a shame.

I like The rock I hope next time will be better.

Better than any Marvel films released in 2022. Action packed film with great graphical representation and star cast.
Storyline was the only thing which could've been better but overall the film is amazing if you wish to sit back and enjoy an action sci fi movie. For me this is the best superhero film of the year, period!

What works: Action pieces, the graphics, cast ( obviously The Rock), Costume design and the background score. All sums up the one awesome cinema experience one can only dream of.

    What doesn't work

storyline is bit slow but the action sequences covers it up so doesn't feel like watching Thor Love and Thunder or Doctor strange madness of multiverse. Sarcastic Rock Jokes worked in some of the scenes but felt like being pushed too hard.

    Not that Bad
The movie is not as bad as people are saying, what is wrong with using CGI things that were impossible way back when can be possible to be shown on the big screen. It makes everything look amazing I don't really get it. As far as a story goes I guess they could add more depth to the characters and round it out a little bit but CGI doesn't make orr break it for me. Just watch this movie Don't be deterred from washing it just because people are mad about CGI. Seems like DC movies are our ways tore apart back reviews or critics. Overall the movie was pretty decent. I look forward to see what happens next in this Shazam universe.

Not Enough Juice To Help A Dying DCEU Franchise
I was very disappointed in Black Adam. It wasn't a good movie, it wasn't a bad movie, it was "a movie." As much I had fun watching Dwayne Johnson's decent performance, but I walked out the theater during the third act. About the Superman ending where Amanda Waller is making a huge warning to Black Adam leaving (not going to name it), Superman arrives. I was shocked when I saw the end and he said "We need to talk." And that's it. What an absolute waste of an ending because Cavill will no longer play Superman in future projects. This DCEU franchise is dead. WB and its former bosses failed altogether. And since Black Adam failed to break even at the box office, who do you trust at WB Discovery? David Zaslav, The Rock, or Gunn/Saffron? I'm just getting tired of Zaslav's BS politics at WB and now, DC's future is grim. The good news is that Gunn/Saffron will be focusing on giving fans what we want. A full blown reboot, now known as DCU.

    What a mess.
Super powered anti hero awakens after 5000 years of slumber, speaks fluent English, walks through walls for no reason where he could use doors, speaks in very questionable lines and within 30 minutes becomes entangled in a heroic plan to save a random boy he met briefly. Where action scenes are pretty good, full of explosions and superpowers the rest of this film is a total mess. The plot develops very quickly without allowing the main character to catch up so the whole thing is rushed and very cheesy. This could have easily been done so much better and smoother. I guess they wanted the anti hero to become a hero very quickly so they rushed through the plot and re-wrote his true nature as they pleased. It's a mess. Watch it for a silly movie night but considering I rewatched Zach Snyder's 4 hour justice league cut last night I can assure you this is a badly written action packed mess.

Man of Steel doesn't look too bad now, huh
Black Adam is sensory overload in the worst way possible, a big, bloated mess that sacrifices any coherent sense of storytelling for corporate greed and franchise set-up. To its credit, the three writers that strung together this mess do try to put the country of Khandaq and the oppression of its citizens first, but its political subtext, amidst the poorly paced non-stop action and shoddy CGI quickly starts to feel like an afterthought. Everything in this project follows "tell, don't show", from its lengthy opening voiceover to characters that only spew expository dialog. Most of them don't go beyond the most perfunctory characterization, and the writer's efforts to wrestle an emotional response in some of the movie's supposedly touching or rousing moments rings woefully hollow. They all feel like cardboard cut-outs, from the annoying, you-gotta-come-up-with-a-catchphrase kid, through the phoned in performance of Pierce Brosnan, to the main villain who is introduced in the last act merely that him and Black Adam can have one more reason to wreck havoc and cause billions of property damage. The film's unsung (anti)hero might unintentionally be its main star, whose deadpan line delivery coupled with great comedic timing produces a few moments of much needed levity. If this slog is all Warner Bros could come up with, almost 10 years into their misguided universe, then the hiring of James Gunn to give DC a clean slate can't have come any sooner.

Good Effects Ruined By Very Weak Plot
The Black Adam character has the powers of Superman with the only difference being he has no problem killing bad guys. The rest of the justice league superheroes are like comic relief except for Dr. Fate... the screenplay was likely written by video gamer kids because it's utterly boring and shockingly stupid. Not much else to say other than the CGI is decent but wasted on the banal and pointlessly uninteresting storyline. You can't blame The Rock because he plays his part just fine. It's entirely the fault of the writers. Honestly I can't fathom why Hollywood doesn't hire people with an imagination to write an original or intelligent story.

DC is late to the party
Entertaining but plot holes start to bother towards the end like how Black Adam could've ripped off his mask before diving into the ocean. But I suppose everything has to be dramatic in this kind of flick. Also not a fan of the way song covers are being used in comic book movies. Why can't we just have a good score? And at this point DC movies are just trying to ape Marvel movies. I feel they should find their own style and give characters an original spin. Hawkman's whole vibe with the tech was too close to Black Panther. They even managed to make the hawk logo like a panther. And Dr Fate has been developed unfortunately close to Dr Strange. With the clothing and beard. Atom Smasher is basically Ant-Man without the shrinking. It's all different, but also the same. Can't really put my finger on it but everything feels like a Marvel knock off. And I know most of the DC characters were developed before Marvel developed theirs so it's kinda sad they couldn't go a different route and shake off the resemblances. Also the slow motion action sequences peak in the beginning of the film and get more and more boring each time.

Flaws aside, the comedy works. DJ has become so good in balancing humour and serious action I would say he is one of the best action heroes of Hollywood at this time. The Arnold Schwarzenegger of current times if you will. And yes, I mean that as a compliment. Mohammed Amer (or as some would know him as Mo Amer from his show and stand up on Netflix) is a delight on screen and provided most of the punchlines that made me laugh out loud. Pierce Brosnan is classy as always. Noah Centineo is still in one of his rom-coms and every time he comes on screen I can't stop thinking how closely he resembles Mark Ruffalo. He even has the same voice. Action sequences are good for the most part, especially the one in the beginning. The flashbacks with the whole lore is nicely done with a bit of Rashomon effect.

This is what DC should've done when they were setting up their DC verse when they started with Man of Steel. They should've done individual introduction films and then gone on to the Justice League film. Still haven't gotten around to watching Aquaman because of how terrible Justice League was. Hopefully they get it right this time around. And I'm kinda excited to see where Black Adam fits in with Shazam and Superman and looking forward to the movie that brings these characters together.
