kathey-73397 - 27 June 2024 Great movie if you love the strips I've always loved the comic strips of Garfield and really enjoyed the movie. The three main characters really made the movie, the only other recurring character being Liz the vet for one scene, with all other characters being unknown. Really interesting backstory and introduction to Garfield and Odie, the cute little kitten becoming the cat we all love. A few forth wall breaking moments and a few scenes that could ha.in the strips themselves. As a fan of the cartoon written an created by Jim Davis it would have been a cool Easter egg to have the actual creator voice the character, but Pratt did an ok job brining out the character and personality of Garfield. All in all, with a surprising emotional story line, a very good watch and a funny movie.
catelynnwest - 15 June 2024 A child's thriller? I left the movie theaters with a refund after 30 minutes.. I feel like I was watching an adult thriller and then suddenly a cat would pop out to sugar coat a scary scene. I don't understand how anyone is calling this movie appropriate for a younger Audience. Based off what I had seen in the first 30 I can't imagine it getting any lighter or less on the edge of your seat for a kids movie. The char eaters are cute. But really need to make the dad look like a ghost? Or a demon floating around? No reason for the scary threatening dogs rooted in darkness and revenge. In my opinion to scary for kids.
calahao - 7 June 2024 Not even hate, just apathy "Hey kids, do you want a version of Garfield that's completely devoid of the character's lovable sarcasm and wit, is so bland that makes The Minions seem like His Dark Materials, has a father plotline for some reason and tries and fails to appeal to modern sensibilities?"
If your answer to the above is yes, more power to you. But you should know that animation for kids doesn't deserve this, it deserves much better and a lot more respect.
This is the future Pixar wants!
The animation is semi-stylised at least, though nowhere near the heights of some like Spider-Verse.
