    The First Bored
ANOTHER example of a prequel that didn't need to exist.

The original Omen from 1976 was enough. Damien: Part II, eh, okay fine. The Final Conflict, while not perfect, was a nice end to the saga. Oh wait, there's MORE...

Admittedly, I've not seen the TV movie, Omen IV: The Awakening, so no opinion here. But, then fast forward - past the remake from 2006 - to 2024 and they just wanna show how Damien was born.

Why? Again, the actual first was enough. This was overkill with very little kills.

There is absolutely no reason to watch this movie. I was literally bored throughout this movie. And to be frank, I played my phone games for the bulk of this as it never kept my interest. I did, however, pay attention to the climax and wondered how any of the first couple of acts meant anything.

Maybe I need to see this again to understand an ounce of reasoning to make this prequel. This may be on me, but I honestly saw no reason for this to exist and for the most part...I was unbelievably bored. If you saw something different, more power to you. Hopefully this led you to enjoy the original from the 70s more.

I just didn't believe this was AT ALL necessary.

    Final Thoughts: Just from memory:

    1. The Omen (1976) 2. Damien - Omen II (1978) 3. The Final Conflict (1981) 4. The Omen (2006) 5. The First Omen (2024) 6. (Only because I didn't see it) Omen IV: The Awakening.

Better than expected and worth a view
In a world of prequels and frenchise universes this movie has been one I didn't wait for or did expect.

Especially after the 2006 Omen remake.

The story is not full of surprises. We always heard of Damian's birth, his real mother, the jackal. Now asome creative people wrote the story and brought it to life.

What to say? It's what you expect in the year 2024. But wait. It's more. Or better said: less!

It's a modern flick but in the style of the 70s. No jump scares. Just a good horror stories told in a decent way. The first death scene was something I haven't seen in a long time. An unexpected kind of killing and dying. But even more impressive. Not the usual "He's dead Jim" bloody jump scare death. More a "what the heck!? Really?" scene which keeps you mouth wide open.

And the movie continues this style of story telling and unexpected kills and how the people die. All in time without rush.

All in all this movie is doing things right other modern franchises are missing. A good story, people with patience and creativity who gave us something familiar from the past in times we only rush threw life.

    Another deliberate mess from Hollywood
I just finished watching this movie and I cannot believe what I just saw... I am stunned!!

If any of you are at all familiar with the original "Omen" movie I urge you to stay as far away from this movie as possible. It is shockingly ridiculous. Not only does this film steal two iconic 'death-scenes' from the original, but it has decided that Damien's mother was NOT a jackal... oh, plus Damien had a twin sister!!! Do I need to repeat that??

That's how ridiculous this movie actually is.

The original movie was about Damien and his ascension to power as the antichrist. That's all it was ever about!

Now, today, "The Omen" franchise is about a mother and the twin sister of Damien, even though the mother was originally a jackal and there was never a twin sister in the first place.

What's next Hollywood? How about a prequel to "Friday the Thirteenth" where Jason had a sister? Or maybe one where Freddy Kruger is part of a set of triplets? I mean... why not just swing for the fences you glorious, wonderful Hollywood executives... let's make a movie where we find out Jason, Michael, Freddy, Chucky and Pinhead are all brothers whose mother and father is Dracula and The Mummy... This is nothing but another franchise destroyed.... Way to go Hollywood executives... way to go...

Another lame tribute to better movies
    C'mon, man!

It is mentioned multiple times across The Omen franchise that Damien's mother was a jackal and his father was the Prince of Darkness. In The Omen, Gregory Peck digs up Damien's real mother's grave and there's a jackal skeleton buried there! It's one of the best scenes across the whole series.

Nope, now they're claiming that the evil brat was born to a human mother, his father was a jackal-esque beast, and that it's all just some diabolical plan/conspiracy cooked by a secret sect of the catholic church in order to battle secularism.

    Lame.

Also, why is every horror movie an "easter egg" hunt? Can't anything just be original? This movie had "homages" to Suspiria, Blue Velvet, Possession, Rosemary's Baby etc. And these were just the ones that I picked up on.

I'm sure the hope here is that horror-freaks will see these homages and get excited.... but honestly, if I wanna see these amazing scenes and set pieces, I would much rather just watch the original material and be better off for it.

I will admit the opening scene of this movie was pretty fun, and that the leading lady has some real talent and great hair. It's just too bad this movie was such a bummer.
