bryanb1228 - 14 January 2024 DO NOT WATCH. WILL CAUSE BRAIN DAMAGE. Do not watch!!!!!!!! Took me multiple attempts to watch this film starting from the first act where the car slings across on the cable. The multiple connected trailers flip over its end, slides for miles on its back, engine still apparently running mind you bec Dom jumps in the drivers seat and hits the gas immediately to keep it on the road. Then he throws a trailer into a jet. Don't even get me started on the Pontiac Fiero making it to space, assembled in a day or 2. Only reason Jacob turns "good" is bec his partner turned against him for more money. Literally 1 of the worst films ever made.
snusmumrikforever - 2 October 2023 Director should of being fired after first 5 minutes This movie is breaking all records how bad it is. Good thing I never went to watch it into cinema. It is hard for me to me to believe that actors even agreed to play in this nonsense. I guess they got paid pretty penny for it. I thought scene where dude by a lucky shot kills 14 military guys was retardant but wait on that, things are getting even worse. 20 guys are punching Toretto and he doesn't have a drop of blood on his face... I wish we could put a film maker of this move and make him fight vs 20 elite soldiers to see how it ends; he could be a beef patty in a minute. But Toretto stands up, kicks everyone like a terminator and then pulls down a concrete support like an a paper. Falls down probably 50-100 feet down in a water, survives a fall upside down and don't get hit by any debris. Guys flying into space on a car is another eye hurting scene. People are training for years to go into space, NASA tests equipment for decades before launch and two dudes build a space car in 30 seconds? Movie director, are you really that dumb? To end all of this, main characters never die, whole galaxy will be against them and they will kill everyone and everywhere. Another fun fact, airbags never deploy in any car.
SPZMaxinema - 3 July 2023 Very unreal and impractical, but still fun! Yes, this movie is riddled with problems and is very silly with how far they go. Not only did they jump the shark, they jumped it from over a cliff and in outer space!! Plus it is kind of a mystery who would've babysat the kid when they were gone and why/how Han is alive. It was pretty ridiculous that they brought him back.
On the flip side I did like a lot of the action when they just stuck with car chases and fist fights, and it was once again clever how they tied in the characters from Tokyo Drift (which is a movie that I think is good enough for what it is).
Overall, if you're a lover of film from an art and depth perspective, this is not the movie for you. I had just enough fun with it but it had its eye-roll worthy moments, no doubt!
wiltornolbrook - 27 November 2022 Utter crap It's a carbon copy of the last 8 films. Terrible storyline, terrible script and car chases that are so over the top it's cringe worthy. Also, how does everyone walk away without a scratch? Where do they get the cars from and how are they always suped up and ready to go. Also also....they went to space. Jesus christ. Nothing makes sense at all.
The entire franchise is full of plot holes and gives you endless moments where you put your head in your hands and shake. They should've stopped after the third one. Nothing wrong with a classic trilogy. Without knowing what the tenth film is about, we can probably guess the outcome of the entire film before it's released.
mwbvnsxk - 10 September 2022 What I saw caused mixed feelings No epidemic can stop Dominic Toretto and his "family". This is clearly evidenced by the results of the box office of the film "Fast and Furious 9", which from the very first days in the international box office began to crumble all kinds of records. And although the reviews of professional film critics leave much to be desired, this does not in the least interfere with the box office success of the project. Perhaps the audience is just longing for large-scale shows, no matter how meaningless they may seem at first glance, or perhaps Vin Diesel and his team just know some secret code word that makes the audience, like lemmings, rush to the cinemas over and over again when the "family" returns to the screens.
What I saw caused mixed feelings. Behind all these funny stories about "flights into space", the fantasticism of what is happening and other new buns, there is a really touching story about some past Toretto families.
The plot completely continues the eighth part and introduces us to another relative - Jacob, who, after unpleasant family events, went down the path of a free artist in the world of bad guys. Of course, confrontation and truce cannot be avoided, because the franchise dictates its terms, but all this is shown at times cooler than it was with Hobbs and Shaw or Shaw and Dominic. And all this against the background of Cypher's actions and opposition to her.
In fact, we have a very passing, but damn spectacular action movie with all the consequences. There is drama, and crime, and even comedy. Of course, not all of this is as joyful as it may seem at first glance. Even the hero of the Novel gives out monologues about the fact that these guys are just lucky, just because it's necessary (by the way, this can be timed to many franchises). There is still room for a bunch of inconsistencies, an unlimited amount of stupidity, but all this is forgotten the next day after viewing.
There is no need to talk much about the cast, and there is no reason. I liked John Cena the most. In fact, Cena was replaced by Johnson, who does not want to return to the franchise (and in vain). And the fantastic return of Khan (performed by Son Gan) looks too sucked out of the finger, and the character himself in this film came out useless. There is nothing to say about the guys from the 3rd film, they returned and OK, they made sense for as much as one episode. The rest are unchanged.
There is no need to talk much about stupidity and fantasticism in most episodes, because seriously, all this is compensated by the spectacle. It is because of, let's say, the "gloss of Indian militants" that such pictures are watched (although this is already, and more recently, many bloggers have made a career out of it). For this, thanks, of course, not to Justin Lin, but to the second director Spiro Rosatos, who shot, and J. J. Peri, who coordinated and staged stunts with fights. The guys who came from the "category B" fighters of the 90s are now doing an absurd, but very spectacular action, compared to which, again, I repeat, many comic films are very far away, for which I thank them very much.
Perhaps something really grandiose is waiting for us in the 10th part, and this film was just a warm-up, as it was with the sixth part. "Fast and Furious 9" is rather perceived as a kind of intermediate hub and for sure something truly crazy or brutal awaits us in the next film, as it was with the fifth or seventh film. And this movie can be watched purely for entertainment, for which it was actually filmed.
hachiv - 7 August 2022 It's okay If you've been a fan of the constant increase of ridiculous and more fantastical moments then you should like this just fine. But if you've been missing the more simple days of street racing and grounded stories then this isn't gonna win you over.
