    Title: Lou
    Genre: Thriller, Mystery, Drama

Lou is a gripping and intense thriller that takes viewers on an emotional rollercoaster ride.

The story unfolds amidst a raging storm, which serves as a perfect metaphor for the turmoil faced by the characters. When a young girl is kidnapped, her desperate mother forms an unlikely alliance with her enigmatic neighbor to track down the kidnapper. As they delve deeper into their pursuit, they are confronted with shocking revelations from their pasts that test their limits both physically and emotionally.

The strength of Lou lies in its well-crafted suspenseful narrative. The plot keeps viewers on edge throughout the film as it skillfully unveils unexpected twists and turns. The character development is also commendable as we witness the evolution of both protagonists who are driven by their determination to save the young girl.

The performances in Lou are exceptional. The lead actresses bring depth and complexity to their roles, portraying mothers who will stop at nothing to protect their children. Their chemistry on screen enhances the intensity of their journey together.

Might have been really good if it wasn't so dark
This movie is so dark that I couldn't see what was happening for most of the movie. The movie was literally black screen for multiple minutes at a time and the rest in shadow. Yes, some of it made sense during night scenes and it does take place in the perpetually overcast Pacific Northwest but it did not have to be taken to such extremes. Even day scenes were dark. I'm not a fan if this style which seems to be so prevalent now. It made the movie extremely hard to follow. Other than that, the plot was interesting. It was well cast and the scenery, when you could see it, was beautiful. If dark screens don't get on your nerves the way they do mine then give this movie a try.

    A very Bad Movie
I cannot find anything positive about this movie. The screen play is at a low level and the acting is not much better. Most disappointing is that of Jurnee Smollett who really does not have what it takes for a good presentation of a rather easy role.

The background to the story is weak and really does not sustain the CIA actions that follow.

Some of the (over acted) scenes defy rationality. An example might be when Lou and Hannah fall off the bridge and are covered in mud but a very short time later (presumably without oblution facilities in the jungle) they are suddenly rather presentable.

I would suggest choosing an alternative if you wish to spend your time well.

Great lead actress, did a fantastic job!
I wanna start by saying that I love the fact that there finally is an older female action character.. which I haven't seen like this before. It's very nice for a change to see a woman playing a role like this. Well the whole cast was great, especially the main actress but I enjoyed all of the performances! Didn't know what to expect but I love the dark gritty vibe and the soundtrack was fun too. There's something about movies in small towns that I always enjoyed! Plus the landscapes are beautiful too. It's just a good thriller with a nice plot twist. Well I didn't see it coming at least, it's definitely worth a watch!

Old Lady Snuffs Out TWO Green Berets?!
A 70 year old lady beats up a giant Green Beret in hand to hand combat. I'm not even kidding. He kicks her 3 times to the gut, delivered 3 haymaker punches to her face, and then throws her against the wall. But don't worry! She somehow bests him with an empty can of soup. Lololol.

It was so bad that I burst out laughing hysterically. This woman would've had a legit broken face, broken ribs, and internal bleeding. This guy was a giant, trained in elite special forces and this woman is ancient? Just don't insult me. Now, if she got the drop on them and shot them...ok, maybe I can get with that, but a fight?

    Bonnie, I mean Lou
After watching the series Mom I couldn't help but notice the similarities. Lou collects rent, abandons her child, and even had a limp. Oh and there's a dog! This felt like Bonnie taking on a hard-core role, but after she sobered up and missed a couple of meetings.

I can't for the life of me understand why Lou and Hannah decide to hide the fact that Philip is a dangerous man. Hannah puts her daughter's life and a potential love interest in danger by lying about his whereabouts. In turn Lou risks the life of her granddaughter and Hannah by not revealing the truth. This family doesn't seem to care about each other or anyone else. Even Philip uses Vee as a pawn.

The ending seemed very lazily written. You can tell what's going to happen after you notice Lou with a bulletproof vest.
