The ordinary angels around us.
Sharon Stevens is a co-owner of a salon and has a turbulent relationship with her disapproving son which is one of the reason she uses for her alcohol addiction. When she comes across a newspaper article about 5 year old Michelle Schmidt in need of a liver transplant and has just lost her mother, she decides to help out the family. She independently raises fund at her salon in a day but soon realizes that isn't enough. Ed the father has a larger debt due to the hospital bills and his income isn't enough to cut it. How she helps out the family in order to save the girl's life and even help herself with repairing the relationship with her son, forms rest of the story.
Based on the true events that occurred in 1994, Ordinary Angels is a straight forward tale of the triumph of humanity when people come together to help each other out. With Hilary Swank and Alan Ritchson leading from the front, ably supported by the rest of the cast including a cute Emily Mitchell as Michelle, Ordinary Angels succeeds in narrating a near 2hr story of one family facing the crisis with a committed Sharon being their angel. The old school narrative here works largely and it is much easier to connect with the family's situation. I always look forward to some of the real life footages during the end credits and that made this extra special. - Padreviews - 26 April 2024

An amazing piece of storytelling based on true life
A story about retribution, community & faith.
The casting & acting was top notch , in particular the father as he struggled with his own internal demons being unable to show emotion but you knew his heat was in the right place despite being dealt such a terrible hand & his character's reluctance to accept help was incredibly believable & the plots within a plot were great
As usual I don't give spoilers so I just concentrate on the craft and in this case it was perfect
Go see it you won't regret it , but I can guarantee you'll end up in tears , I cried through the whole film

made a grown man cry
In our world full of hate and anger against one another, this movie somehow brought me out of the real world happening today.
I started balling my eyes out halfway through the movie when Sharon succeeded in helping to clear out the existing hospital bills for Ed's deceased wife. And the mere fact that it happened in real life, really melted my heart knowing that there are people like them who are willing to help this much in times of hardship.
An answered prayer, knowing that that small faith in Jesus Christ helped them move the mountain.
From then on it was just a rollercoaster of emotions.
From sad to hopeful, to the most heartwarming feeling I've had by far this year. It really hit the spot.
This movie really depicts how faith in Jesus Christ, a pure act of kindness and love, worked well with persistence and determination. Something we can all learn from.
Ordinary Angels taught me that though we may all have our own trials and tribulations, it can never hurt to help those in need, especially when we are in unison. You'll never know, when you help someone you might end up helping yourself too.
God bless those who watches this movie and may God our Lord Jesus Christ protect all of you from all trouble and diseases.
