Why are they dressed like muggles?
For the most part I enjoyed this movie! Prequels and sequels are never gonna give us the same nostalgic feelings as the OG movies and we just have to accept that. It's not Harry Potter. One thing that did bug me though was the outfits... in the books and movies they always talk about how wizards don't know how to dress like muggles. And yet in this whole movie they wear regular clothes and it throws off the vibe. Albus shoulda been wearing robes, even in his memories in the originals they talk about him wearing different quirky robes as a young wizard. Small detail but ruined the vibe for me! Casting was awesome though, I love Mads as the villain.

    Nothing short of a 10!
Following all the rules of the Harry Potter saga story books, this movie shows that rules of engagement are only allowed during certain circumstances, and the rule between Albus and the villain, are also right there for your eyes.

To think this any less than a 10, is to make a mistake in having missed the vital parts.

I have never seen a better Harry Potter story. The others come close. This one makes 10. Masterpiece level.

Why were the other ratings less? People did not fully understand the story, they probably did not read the book from this film, and if the first two are not correct guesses, then I am certain of my last being right: They did not watch the movie paying attention to the vital delicate story parts.

The best of the Fantastic Beasts films but still not quite there
This is easily the best of the three 'Fantastic Beasts' films thus far. I gave 5 stars to 'And Where To Find Them', 6 stars to 'The Crimes of Grindelwald', and I have given 7 stars to this latest installment.

If I were a child, I suspect that I would like the first film much more. Whether a film has a well-developed plot doesn't really matter to a child. What matters is funny action and silly elements, and the film has lots of silly elements. Like the kleptomaniac platypus with an eye for shiny bling, or the horny rhinoceros-like creature that has to be rounded up in Central Park. There were so many pieces flying around in the first film, it never felt cohesive. And the silly elements kept it from feeling like a mature film.

This third film does have humour, which I liked, but it doesn't dip into so much wacky silliness, or make it the focus of many scenes. We still have the kleptomaniac platypus but his contributions are actually important to a particular scene. And thankfully we still have Newt Scamander, whose disarming charm and clear love for all creatures is a great beacon in the film. The humour that he injects into the films is actually central to the moments in the film where we encounter it. It's the whole juxtoposition of his serious, bookish nature with his funny unexpected actions that makes the humour work so well.

In terms of plot along, "Secrets of Dumbledore" was certainly laid out better than the other two, and it progressed more like a serious movie would. I felt that it was definitely a more mature film.

And yet, there is still something missing. The fact is, we are not seeing a lot of depth here, not in the characters, and not in the plot points. The plot is largely just a string of actions with a minimal amount of emotion thrown in.

We get to see Newt do his thing, but so many of the gags of the situations into which he gets thrown keep drawing focus. The same goes for Kowalski, the muggle baker. I understand that his presence in the film has to do with Queenie, the mind-reader. But he adds very little to the film.

And then there was Lally. I could never tell whether she was supposed to be American or British. Her accent wavered around so much. And the actress who played her overacted everytime she was on screen. The first scene in which we encounter her was so ... superfluous. What was the point of the whole thing? The writing in that scene, coupled with her terrible acting, really set a terrible note right at the beginning.

I hope that there is a fourth installment, and that they finally learn their lessons about how to craft an interesting, compelling story with depth and great characters who are actually needed to propel the plot.

Can't wait for the next one
Here's my reason why, this movie gave great insight on Dumbledore's past and how Newt helped in defeating one of the Wizarding worlds greatest enemies. Yes there should have been more Beasts in the movie, however the main one the Quilin had a major role to play. One of the reasons it did so bad in the box office is because Disney fired Johnny Depp and a lot of his fans basically boycotted the movie because of it. I can't wait to see what they come up with next. There is so much more we can learn about Newt's relationship with Dumbledore and with Tina, and hopefully it will have more beasts involved in the future. Also it would be nice to see what happens with Queeny and Jacob.

Needed more 'fantastic' and a lot more 'beasts'
This trilogy (with the exception of parts of the first one) is just laden with wasted potential. Having a new wizarding story that focuses on a unique character and his titular 'fantastic beasts' was a great idea. But instead these films chose to focus more on basically the same 'good vs evil wizards' story as Harry Potter, just without the fun magical feeling that made those movies good.

There are snippets of scenes in this film where Newt and his creatures are working together, and it's great, but then we suddenly cut back to one of many sleep-inducing political scenes, and it just feels like such a waste.

At times the film was so dull that I actually had to take a break for a few minutes while watching it so that I could reset my focus. As well as the story, this movie was also unfortunately one of the most visually bland things I've seen in a long time. Everything felt completely washed out, and at times it was seriously hard to see what was going on.

    Waste of Time....
I just watched to follow up with the story line but if you can tell if there is a decent one... I would say after all, they should have left with Harry Potter more I watch Dumbledore loses its value in me. There is no decent character to play as a main and it seems that.they are divided in 4-6 people, so many back story is missing. I just cant explain how it hurts to skip forward my once favourite movie.... I would really wish that it would be just another fiction movie that wasnt connected to Harry Potter. I prefer to watch over Harry Potter again and again instead of watching this ''thing''.
