    Good drama with strong leads
I too, like others, thought the trailers seemed to be about a long, lost love. So far from this story. I enjoyed it more than expected, so many little stories wrapped around the lead character, and her battles. Sigourney Weaver, who looks that good in their 70's?? She is fabulous! I've enjoyed watching many of her films over the past 4 decades. She does it again in this role, she is believable in this role. The story has so many twist and turns, almost with every character. Kevin Klein did great, he is another actor who has aged well and is still at the top of his game. I may need to get the book, since movies are rarely better than the book. If you enjoy a drama about how life can affect us all, if you ever experienced a secret that leads you to make poor choices, if you are close to anyone that is bull headed, stubborn and think it's weak to ask for help... well, I suspect you may enjoy this movie.

    Advertising plot was skewed
Had I known the crux of this plot? I probably would not have watched it, even though? Sigourney Weaver and Kevin Kline are two of my most favorite actors. The major "thread" of her alcoholism is just something that didn't appeal to me and took "center stage" in this whole drama, that I THOUGHT, was truly MORE about two highschool "loves" reuniting after many a year apart. -So that rather dampened the story for me, but the acting was very good, the setting ideal, the ensuing friendships of townspeople all "came together" in a way that was both surprising and yet strangely familiar for any one whose ever resided in a small town. I do feel Kevin Kline's role was underrated and could have been enhanced lending itself to greater interest in this long term relationship, but that was not to be.

    Sigourney soars
To new heights with this dramedy..starts off kinda cute n sweet with some comedy light as it is and then the drama hits n she runs off to the finish.. I loved the movie n great to see her n Kevin act together.

Side note saw it was her birthday the other day, hard to believe she is 75.

Would love to see her get nominated for an Oscar for such a little known film n it looks like it has quietly gone to dvd blu ray.

She did a very good job with the storyline very tough subject to grasp when it finally falls in your lap out of nowhere but the result was overwhelming a bit sad for her at first. Go see it.

There should be more movies like this.
Sigourney Weaver Is so talented and just outstanding in this role. The always great Kevin Kline, is full of patience and genuine understanding. Some familiar faces make up the cast of characters, who fill the movie with a few "ah ha" moments. Good to see Beverly D'angelo in a small supporting role. There is a lot of beautiful scenery that adds so much to this movie. Lost loves, childhood trauma, suicide, alcohol addiction, some of life's really hard lessons portrayed in a moving and realistic adult fashion. Some really funny moments and true romance to go along with it. We were pleasantly surprised how much we enjoyed this movie. We will watch it again.
