    Ignore the low score.
Pay no attention to the 5.8 rating (at time of writing). This is a very capable horror flick, well filmed, decently scripted, and brilliantly acted. It's also full of topical themes about bodily autonomy and religious prescription of anything to do with women's bodies.

A lot of people seem to be getting their rosaries in a twist over it as a perceived attacked on the Catholic Church. It isn't. It's just a movie, with some great talking points. Why great? Because one glance at these reviews shows it's got people talking.

Still, I'm willing to bet one rusty crucifixion nail and a Turin Shroud that there was a campaign to downrate this movie, organised on WhatsApp groups all across the Bible Belt of America.

But yep, just a movie. Not a great movie. As I opened with... a very capable horror movie.

Of course, if you don't like blood and you can't suspend your disbelief then don't watch this flick. Or transubstantiate, now I come to think about it. ;-)

    Disappointing.
The trailers looked good, and the first third of the movie was actually pretty good. But then it kinda went downhill and didn't stop.

There were some gore and horror elements, sure; but nothing that stood out. A few scenes were overdone tropes, but more than a few impressed with their great cinematography.

Overall though, the story and the premise let the movie down. Perhaps if The First Omen hadn't come out this very same year? I don't know.

Everyone played their part very well, it was just that the story had no substance to keep the movie going.

I was waiting to watch this in the theaters but was able to watch it at home instead and I'm glad I didn't go out.

Nothing in the story. Watch only for timepass
This movie had no strong story as it was not like a cinema story simple in two sentences that's it. There is nothing horror as it was not a ghost movie. The making will be like THE NUN movie but it nothing before it. There is no scary scenes but horrorfic distribing scenes there, for that it was worth. The movie was able to watch only for Sydney Sweeney's acting. She acted her role very well. You will find professor of money heist there, he is a villain but his motive was not much described. It seems to be useless motive. The making was good. The opening scene will be like ghost horror movie but it was completely opposite to it. Only humans will behave like a horror as ghosts. The movie is R rated has nudity of Sydney Sweeney and mature scenes. Blood violence is shown and birthing of baby and then killing scenes will be terror enough to distrub some people. But these are the only benefit to this movie to be worth as watching for a timepass.
