A Wild Ride That Misses the Mark!
We are presented with a story of intrigue and tension in a conflicted marital relationship. However, despite Lyne's distinctive direction, the film leaves several questions unanswered and lacks depth in the protagonists' relationship.

From the outset, Lyne's characteristic style, known for his previous erotic thrillers, is perceived, but this time it seems to lack a clear focus. The lack of significant plot twists and the predictability regarding the fate of Melinda's partners diminishes some of the suspense that could have been generated. One would expect a film of this genre, directed by someone with Adrian's experience, to offer more surprises or at least a more intriguing development.

The lack of depth in Vic and Melinda's relationship is another disappointing aspect. Although underlying issues are hinted at, the film does not adequately explore these conflicts, leaving us with a superficial view of their dynamics.

The question of whether Melinda truly loved Vic remains unanswered, as the film does not delve deep enough into the characters' feelings and motivations. This lack of clarity contributes to the feeling that the plot lacks a defined goal or a clear message to convey.

What is the connection between Vic's snails and the main story? It is not clearly established, leading to confusion and a sense of disconnection in some scenes. Similarly, while it is shown that Vic and his bicycle play an important role in the symbolism of the plot, their relevance or meaning is not fully explored. This leaves wondering if there is a deeper connection between the bicycle and the story or if it is simply a visual element without a clear purpose.

Regarding the ending of the film, convenience for Vic is another point that may disappoint. It could be argued that the resolution of the story conveniently solves Vic's problems without fully confronting the consequences of his actions. This can diminish the emotional impact of the film's climax and give the impression that the resolution is forced or unrealistic.

Compared to the novel it is based on, the film seems to fall short in terms of character development and narrative. Although the premise is interesting, the execution fails to reach its full potential. This raises the question of whether Adrian Lyne has lost some of his distinctive directing skills, as the film fails to capture the same intensity and depth as his previous works.

    Psychology at it's finest
Deep Water presents a captivating exploration of complex psychological dynamics through its main characters. Ben Affleck delivers a masterful performance, embodying the nuances of a psychopathic personality with chilling accuracy. Ana de Armas complements this with her equally impressive portrayal of a character whose emotional turbulence hints at possible bipolar disorder. Her performance adds depth and intrigue to the narrative.

The young actress playing the role of their child also deserves special mention. She brings a delightful innocence to the film, adding a layer of charm amidst the intense psychological drama. The chemistry between the actors is palpable, enhancing the overall viewing experience.

While the characters are intricately crafted and the performances are exceptional, the plot of "Deep Water" falls short of its potential. It just doesn't quite reach the depths it could have, leaving some narrative threads underexplored. This aspect, unfortunately, detracts from the film's overall impact.

The movie is a showcase of stellar acting and complex character portrayal, making it a worthwhile watch for fans of (psychological) thrillers. However, the less-than-perfect plot execution leads me to rate it a 7 out of 10. It's a film that enthralls and engages, but one can't help but feel that with a tighter plot, it could have been much better.

Not as bad as many says.
First half of this movie is really dull. But i don't mind that. There need to be a lot more character development. What Vic actually did that made him so rich that's not clear. And why that writer was such a pain in the ass to Vic i don't understand. Director could give a little more emotion to Vic. Another thing i must say, that kid looks like Asian which really don't match up. She's super cute though. The movie could have a better ending. Also who tf keep someone's id to them whom they just murdered.

Not as erotic as i expected. Don't want to say anything much. If you're a fan of Anna you should definitely watch this.

    Liked how mess ended
Not the type of movie I would like to recommend, however I liked how things end and how last scene was presented. Although Ana is a very sexy actress, but nudity in such movie could be avoided. It is a straight forward event without much complications which reduces the score rating. I was interested watching Ana De Armas looks and smiles where she looked very genuine in most of her scenes looking to Ben Affleck.

I doubt that there is an added value of this movie in any term.

Finally I would watch Ben Affleck in a movie even it talks about robots in spaceship at 2090.

    Overall not satisfied...

    Boring husband with psycho wife
I think my expectations were too high. It was so boring, flat and half asleep Ben A. His wife is just hot, that's all, i think that's all the writers see in this actress, they don't take her serious. I enjoy a bit of naked in a movie but there is nothing else in this, boring husband that plays with snails and has a nympho psycho wife. It had potential and i am sure other writes could have found more plot twist, but unfortunately it was a waste of time for me. I did not enjoy, the dialogue is silly, looks like the whole neighbourhood knows everything and consider the situation as normality, the kid talks like an adult which makes no sense, nothing exciting ever happens.
