    Ruined by Awkwafina"
The first time we heard her voice, the plot of the movie became immediately obvious and predictable. I was so disheartened and let down because I'm such a Kung Foo Panda fan, yet the disheartening made me lose interest in even watching the full film. Every time she talks, It's a turn off for me. ...What a waste.

I'm not a fan of hers in most cartoons, in part because her voice and way she speaks doesn't align the character's personality... I find her obnoxious and overbearing in a way that detracts from the plot and overall movie... As such, I don't understand why they keep putting her in so many of these movies. Sucks.

    Po's now in charge
So, this is the last one, or quite possibly the last one, but then again never under-estimate a studio's ability the squeeze as much as possible out of every successful franchise. The thing is that it seems that the actors from the earlier movies, or at least some of them, simply didn't sign up for this one, which is no doubt why his friends are out on their own mission.

Anyway, this film seems to continue with Po's progression up the ladder, and also the fact that he doesn't feel that he is actually ready for the role that he has been given. Namely this time he is going to become a spiritual adviser and as such he needs to select a new dragon warrior. This is somewhat devastating for him because he seems to want to continue in that role, but it is suggested that it is time to move on.

This film does bring some of the characters back from the previous films, however it this time the big bad is a chameleon, and while she can change form, she doesn't get their powers, so she wants the staff. Of course, this results in some double crossing so that she can steal the powers of others who have been sent to the spirit realm. What results is that the big bad from the first film returns. Actually, some of the big bads from the other films return as well (such as the peacock, though I don't think there is a speaking role). Actually, that is one of the good things about animated features because they can use the characters, but they don't have to speak (though there is concern that AI can now be used to provide the voices).

Well, yeah, as a film is really wasn't too bad, though I get the impression that we are probably coming to the end of the series, and as such, it is probably time to put Kung Fu Panda to bed.

If you love kung fu panda, don't watch this.
I'm no professional critic so I'll say this as I felt, there was no magic in this film. It was so bad that I refuse to accept that It's canon. I was so excited for it yet, I regret watching it. There was no depth to the plot and the villain's purpose was nothing; If you compare it to Tai Lung, Lord Shen and Kai's story, it's insulting to the triology. The characters held no power and the story was so very rushed, such that it is completely obvious that this film was made just for the sake of a sequel. The animation style changes were so ridiculous that I will not make any further comments on those. Anti-climactic except for that one scene where we see a glimpse of the Po from the previous movies instead of him being presented like a joke. Just no. Don't watch it. I've cried watching the previous movies on rough days; trust me when I say, just pretend Kung fu panda 4 never came out.

This was a better sequel than I expected.
    Here's The 4K Lowedown on "Kung Fu Panda 4" (PG - 2024 - Theater)

    Genre: Animated/Family

    My Score: 8.5 Cast=10 Acting=6 Trailer=8 Ending=9 Story=10 Visual=10 Direct=7 Sound=7 Genre=10 Sub-genre=8

Po is tapped to become the Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace, and he needs to find and train a new Dragon Warrior while a wicked has plans of her own.

"Now...who wants to do the right thing for the wrong reasons?" This was a great sequel! Even though the furious five were not a part of this one, the returning and current cast more than made up for it. You get a lot of the same great action and comedy as the other films. I can't say this would be great for the really young, but I still think it's a good family film. If you are a fan of this franchise, I believe this is a must watch.
