40 years to see another good one!
The original cast brought back did a great job. Loved the connections/storyline to the first one. Actress picked was perfect fit to play Dr. S daughter in this movie. The mini marshmallow characters were so cute and I like spin from this character in the first. Their mischievous part at end of movie with taking over truck was comical and a nice touch. So fitting they had Slimer in it as well. But I will have to say as much as this version of Slimer looks like first movie but I like how this characters looks were softened/made friendlier when utilized in other pictures. Glad I'm still alive to see this version.

    wRelies too much on nostalgia
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire takes the franchise back to NYC after 2001's 'Afterlife', though for me it is not really a step forward. Afterlife, being the first sequel for many years, offered an element of surprise and freshness in location and did not focus too much on the original cast members.

'Frozen Empire' tries to overdose the viewer on nostalgia and just goes way too far. Scenes are literally cut and pasted from the original movie (Slimer, the library ghost..), and the original cast, who are now into older age, are given way too much screen time and are just not as funny as they once were.

There is no way to recreate the first film. Instead just go and watch the original Ghostbusters. But that does not generate fresh $$$ so we add this to the list of modern cinema unnecessary / unimaginative sequels / prequels / remakes. If I'm feeling kinder we could say it introduces the franchise to a new generation and the cast of kids and young adults do a fine job with what they are allowed to do. The 'middle aged' cast and Paul Rudd in particular, are sleepwalking through it however.

A fun family adventure but far from the madcap ingenious comedy of the original.

    5/10.

Is there's mistakes... Yes but overall still enjoyable
I will be honest it did help watching this movie with my kids as they enjoyed it with both scares and laughs! Is there problems and is it arguable the worst of the main canon 4 films, yes. That being said, it is still enjoyable with some great plot points for the whole family. The larger cast does add confusion and less coherency to the main plot though.

I hope this review helps because if you go in thinking it will be like the original Ghostbusters you will be disappointment with retread plot points and problems. If you go in looking for an enjoyable sequel to a fun family series, then you just may enjoy it!

    Cringe
Well, I thought Afterlife was good fun. So I gave this a chance only to discover that even, the 2016 'reboot' was way better than this steaming pile of c***p.

The makers of this movie need to realise a movie needs a script. This one for sure didn't have one. All characters were off, jokes (what jokes?) were lame. Basically the whole thing is just a lazy moneygrab. Lazy writing, lazy creature design... both boring as hell.

The old main characters are just there for the sake of being there but it's also no fun. The evil character is super boring as well and gets 3 minutes of screentime. It would have been better to leave the franchise alone. Don't waste your precious time on this one.
