    Land of Bad Movies
Hated the movie...the land of bad makes a complete sense as a title - is this a parody? Because it's like a bunch of half wits decided to play war. So much incompetence and so many morons. I spent most of the movie screaming in anger that operators and rest of the ops were so incompetent and bad at what they do. Oh the rage. My hubby had to pause a bunch of times for us to both rage at what a moronic way it was to carry out an op and laying out basic things that would never happen in real life.

Awful. The only good is - I did think that Milo Ventimiglia (only competent person it seems) would be a perfect fit for a role of Mitch Rapp.

If you ever watched a decent special ops type of movie, you'd be pissed at this joke.

    6.5 average is about reasonable
I've gone for 7 *'s as this film is definitely above a 6. If you want a realistic military film - give this one a wide berth. If you want a reasonable action film that has some decent tension in places and some cool explosions, switch off your brain and enjoy. That's not meant as a criticism. Some films are intended to just be fun action films. The 80s was jam packed with them. Land of Bad is more Commando than Black Hawk Down. It has plenty of cheesy clichés. A lot of military procedural inaccuracies. But mostly lots of stuff blowing up and generally being a bit frenetic and exciting. It does the job and doesn't warrant the hate from people who thought they were going to watch a military documentary.

Mash-Up Of Action Movies - Good Popcorn Cinema
Russell Crewe is just great in this. I like the casting. Many personality types which suit the military drill persona and the female drone operative was cool and charming and being responsible in her job.

The mission goes wrong and the hero 'Playboy' gets into trouble. He needs to be escorted by the 'drone in the sky' and this is where the drone operatives come in.

Then it goes wrong as he gets captured and the film takes a turn-for-the-worse. So they scramble a jet to attack the enemy base. Except 'Playboy' is in it and extracting the 'asset'.

Just why someone would attack the base with the asset there I don't know. Always do a proper check before authorisation and this film shows ways of when the military goes wrong it can go really bad.

This makes it fresh and riveting for the view. The action is hot and the audio with the bullets is excellent. It's just a very cliched and tired market but this is an above-average flick and gets a 7/10. Especially because Russell Crewe is excellent.

Liam Hemsworth also reminds me so much of Reacher and definitely played the part of a military dude so so well. I take my hat off!

    Crowe was awesome
Excellent entertaining movie, not to be taken seriously, like some have on here to give the lower ratings.

I thoroughly enjoyed the action and overall content, Russel was great in the role as the drone pilot.

Liam plays a strong role of a military man trying his best to survive.

The build up of characters and the personal insights added to the story.

The explosions and fights was great, a movie to play a high volume lol.

You could sit back and analyse the movie and pull holes out of it for technical and military inaccuracies, but why do that, just enjoy the movie.

Get the popcorn out and enjoy.
