    Quite good
What we have here is a very quiet road movie with a 91-year-old film legend. I overlooked the fact that the classic elements, such as seduction and beatings, no longer work in a credible way here, with a fond wink. I found the use of the gable, which was also used here and there to help out, cute. For me, Clint Eastwood is and remains one of the greatest of his guild and if it was to be the last, then I wanted to see the film with him.

His more recent films have always been carried by a slight melancholy, as is also the case here, and accompanied by good, fitting music. I was moved by some of the shots and the palpable farewell of an old man to the things that made up his life. A pleasant, sentimental story between someone who has mostly left his life behind and someone who is just starting out.

    ------------- Conclusion: Quite good.

Cry Macho? I Am Just Crying
Sorry but I am just crying for Clint Eastwood. I am all for the older generation of big stars coming back to make movies however most of the successful ones I have seen were comedies. It would have been better to stick to that as it this was too hard to look cool or deliver the lines in a more serious role that includes romance. The best part of this movie was the scenes of training the horses and teaching the 13 year old how to ride a horse and also his Macho Rooster attack on one of the bad guys. Other than that it was just a feel good movie with no action to speak of - kept waiting for the shoe to drop but just moves along slowly.

    Cry Macho
I was surprised to find this on Netflix because I thought The Mule was his latest movie. Cry Macho was a simple movie that would have been better if D Yoakum didn't remind me so much of Little Enos with the big hat in Smoky and the Bandit and Eastwood didn't look and move like a 90 year old man. Eastwoods part might have been more believable by an actor in his 70's like maybe Jeff Bridges, Sam Elliot or Tommy Lee Jones. Its just to hard to believe a 90 year old man is driving about 1000 miles through mexico to find a 13 yr old, punch out the cartel, break wild horses and is found sexually attractive by attractive 40 year old women. Maybe older less attractive women should have been casted. I kept expecting the boy to wake up and find that Eastwood had died in his sleep. The story also seemed to have a few unnecessary moments. I only stuck with the movie because it was a Eastwood movie and I expected it to get better.

Movies with strong characters and redemption should never be taken for granted
This was an unexpected delight. Clint Eastwood noticeably old but still gruff but good, and the supporting actors, particularly who plays the kid (sorry forgot his name already) are great. Although there are a couple of loose ends at the end of the story and it is unrealistic in some ways Clint apparently has still got it with the ladies and losing people chasing you is easy!

This movie has heart and too see the two main characters relationship grow is rewarding. I wish Hollywood would make more movies that inspire you to be a better person rather than movies who tell you how bad they are thanks to"the message" I don't know who'll be around to make movies like these after Clint.

    Too old to rock'n'roll
Eastwood is 90 and he looks like his age. None of what he does is credible: he can't even speak or move.

"Mule" should have been his acting glorious goodbye. I cannot understand how he has disappointed us fans this way.
