Firestarter
For more than a decade, parents Andy and Vicky have been on the run, desperate to hide their daughter Charlie from a shadowy federal agency that wants to harness her unprecedented gift for creating fire into a weapon of mass destruction. Andy has taught Charlie how to defuse her power, which is triggered by anger or pain. But as Charlie turns 11, the fire becomes harder and harder to control. After an incident reveals the family's location, a mysterious operative is deployed to hunt down the family and seize Charlie once and for all. Charlie has other plans.

Buy the soundtrack leave the movie
The original movie is a classic for me, but this is a remake that shouldn't have happened. Boring, bland, unlikeable characters, cheap sets even though budget for me doesn't mean good movie, but this feels hurried. The effects are far a few between, and nothing special. As mentioned by others, two jump scares out of the bottom draw of desperation to call this a horror? Really?? How can Stephen King, John Carpenter, masters of their crafts be mrntioned in this mess. I bought the soundtrack as I do with all John Carpenter releases, it sounds retro 80's with elements of escape from new York/ the thing and sold me on giving the movie a spin. What a waste. Don't bother, watch the original, 1000 times better movie.
