What a perfect summer ride! I LOVED it!
I went into the theatre not expecting much more than noise and stunts. But I got so much out of it! Fantastic style, quick pace, fun dialogues whether they were spoken between people in love or people who wanted to beat each other. Oh the fun I had!

Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling are just perfect. Charisma and talent just flows naturally around them, and their chemistry is palpable. I felt everything they felt during the movie, and believe me, it was all good and exciting, with a touch of longing.

This is a love letter to action movie making that is just a pure pleasure to watch. Were there problems with the movie? I don't know! I don't care! By the time it was over I felt entertained, spoiled even, my mood improved by a tenfold, and I just couldn't stop smiling. Go see for yourselves.

I watched it, and will forget I did.
It's not great. Emily Blunt's character is insufferable and makes me wonder why Ryan's character is even chasing after her. Just give her up bro, not worth it. The movie suffers from identity. Does it want to take itself serious or not? The premise seems believable and then the villain seems ridiculous at the same time. Is this her true motivation? Is Ryan's motivation believable? No, they aren't and this is the basis of this movies blah feeling. The action scenes are great but is over shadowed by a quite hallow and disconnected feeling by the audience. They don't make us really care and that is a problem.

    total miscast terrible script
What can you say about this movie? Simple there's absolutely no chemistry between the leads. You cannot believe that these two people actually were in love or give a damn about each other. What This movie lacked what the original TV show had.. The sad thing is this This movie could've done so well and it should've been very good show. Ryan Gosling was a very good choice for the lead. Emily Blunt was so miscast. It was even funny. The biggest issue with this movie is it doesn't know where is going. Whoever wrote the script had no clue and to me I lost and trying to put too much into a movie that could've been simply follow the TV show. I couldn't came up with a better script and storyline. Which is too bad. I'm glad it did not see it in the cinema. I would've been very very disappointed.

"Try too hard, and the public won't like it"
The clue is in the title... it's even said in the film, like they knew it themselves. I felt this film tried way too hard with its over the top stunts (which even had stunts on top of stunts within stunts fairly often...), and humour (which was non-existent, if you've seen any other film, ever). The soundtrack is great, so something good comes out of it. The plot is predictable from the moment things get going. You get the sense of where things are heading when things start to pick up. The ending is less predictable, but the scripting doesn't help that to its conclusion. Shame, as I was looking forward to seeing this. I was half tempted to leave and not care about the ending.
