Can we just follow the rom com script?
What in the heck was going on at the beginning of this movie?! Who thought it was a good or realistic idea to document the whole vendetta storyline. First, the cat allergy angle was actually pretty disturbing and far fetched. Secondly, are we to believe that Julie, who waited her whole life for this trip, decided to partake in idiotic and petty pranks for three out of the seven days she was in Italy? Instead of sightseeing? Like REALLY? The characters had barely a spark for the first half of the movie. It got a bit better once they reconciled, but truly, this was a basic rom com that deviated from the script. It had potential and it had a beautiful location, it should have just been a little more straightforward and about 30 min shorter.

    Highly underated
I have read a lot of stupid 1 and 2 star reviews by people who weren't paying attention to the movie. People are complaining that the people aren't nicely behaved - did those same people complain about

Firstly, she does stay in a villa and anybody who has travelled overseas knows that a lot of old big houses have been turned into apartments and secondly, she has been planning for this trip for years and schoolteachers save for vacations. I know having been married to one.

While all roads lead to Rome, this movie is not at all predictable. I was watching this movie for a little while before I thought "he looks a lot like "Tom Hopper" and was surprised to look the movie up and see it was indeed Tom. He plays a totally different character, and you could believe that is his natural self because he is so at ease. Great acting.

Although you think the movie has an inevitable conclusion nothing is further from the truth. There is nothing corny about it and if you have ever experienced thwarted romance then this will resonate with you.

By the way the dinner scene is a hoot.

Spoiler alert: Tom does get married to Cassie. In real life that is. They are husband and wife :)

    Cringing all the time
Great photography, Verona is beautiful and they got nice shots. The rest is terrible.

The writing is so bad, I was cringing the whole time. They force romantic comedy's clichés all the time. Situations, dialogue, etc. It is terrible, they do not fit, are just forced as if they were going through a check list of things any good romantic comedy should have.

The acting was bad, there was no chemistry. But to be honest, the poor actors did not stand a chance against such atrocious script.

The best part were the secondary characters. You know, the exes our main characters are supposed to run away from. Well, those were more likable than the main couple. Amazing, I know.

Do not watch this, I basically watch all romantic comedies. While many are bad, at least they are not so cringe. Take your chances with any other.

    Watchable romcom
I dont watch romcoms very often, and when I do, they are usually bad. This one is a bit better than average though. Tom Hooper is super hot and hope I'll see him in more movies, with more suitable match and better chemistry between them.

Overall, this is an easy going, "enemies to lovers" movie, with happy ending. It is a bit over the top though and quite unbelievable, but still works if you are into romcoms. Overall, I am not disapointed and it ended up being better than expected. You could see some effort, especially when compared to lack of decent, light movies on Netflix.

That said.. a steamy scene with Tom Hooper would make it much, much better! Another male character was also good looking.

    Cheesy romance
I mean you should know you are getting cheesy romance and if that's your mood...go for it. Yes the characters are not the best but maybe they will make eachother better? My biggest issue were the pranks at the beginning. Because honestly they were highly dangerous to one of the people and just laughed off. While the other person got off pretty mild and it was like the worst thing you could do to someone. Once you get through that...the scenary is gorgeous, the music is great, and some of the boys were cute. I would rewatch letters to Juliet over this one of you are looking for a story set in Verona.
