    Bland
The transitions and cinematography were the best parts of the movie. The rest of it was bland and oftentimes hilarious. Like with many other movies that I give low ratings to, it started off well and then took a bad dive at the middle. By the end of the movie I was thinking it could be classified as a horror comedy, because it was making me laugh more than anything. A bit disappointing since Monroe is one of my favorite actresses. Her character in this movie was so monotone and unlikable that it was hard to empathize with her. Compared to the other roles she has been in, this honestly was the worst character and movie in her acting career.

The Napoleon Dynamite of "horror" Movies
This movie was down right awful, and when I say awful, I mean top 5 worst movies I've ever seen.

The only reason it got 1 star and not 0 stars, is because I watched it with friends, and we were cracking up at how stupid it was.

    1) There were so many plot holes.

    2) the plot itself made 0 sense.

    3) seriously? If at first you don't succeed, try again? And again? And again?

    4) this movie was not predictable at all. I do give them that, but the CGI and SFX were horrible.

    5) the folks that gave this movie a 10 have to be trolling.

If you are with a group of folks, and you want to watch an insanely bad "horror" movie, this is it.

IT ISNT AN ORIGINAL. This was a mashup of 1) Terminator 2 2) Slither 3) Predator 4) Avatar and every other Sifi movie.

Don't trust the complicated simple judges
This film got totally underrated by some interesting masses.

Maybe some were surprised by the "scifi-horror" aspect. But it is no reason to make something artifical down.

It is like in real life with such people by the way.

And so to the next thing. It is extreme metaphoric for an experienceworld what is called, narcissistic selfblame in such orientation and fear pattern and in this direction borderline.

So it got the name "significant other" because of the idealization, or maybe right picture of a partner.

Being "worth, -less" is the narcissistic part, the fear and goal in front of parents, classmates, the world, in front of the own false judgement. So she is panicking that way.

Good made overall, surprising in plot.

Just a bit too short out of that... It is more on the quality side, less for "don't look up" people.

This is a horror movie but not rated as such.
This is a horror movie but not rated as such.

Please correct this on the website because it is shocking when one sees multiple killings and it is only listed as a drama, sci-fi movie.

Again this is a horror movie so beware.

A horror movie. Please change the 600 characters needed to make a review because this does not make sense.

Finally! Not disappointed by a sci fi film
I LOVE sci fi movies... especially anything to do with Aliens and I've been highly disappointed by the offerings the last few years but this film did not disappoint even a little! The story was riveting and kept me engaged. The acting was very believable and on point. I love a movie with twists and this one has plenty! What movies like NOPE couldn't do this one did effortlessly... HOLD MY ATTENTION. Kinda hoping there's a part two to this one the way it ended definitely left the door open for a sequel! Don't want to spoil anything for anyone but this movie even has an awesome shark scene! I hate movies where you know what's going to happen or how it's going to end and this one definitely keeps You on the edge of your seat!

    uhh...
This movie should be put under comedy. This movie is trash. Definitely a waste of time to watch. It's not scary, not thrilling. Its like the 'vampires suck' to its 'twilight', or the 'scary movies' to its 'scream'. I was super bored the whole time watching in the beginning then it hit a certain part where it was ok and i was intrigued but wasnt sure what was happening, and then the effects happened... it was awful. Not something id recommend to anyone. Im not even certain how this movie got the reviews it did? And the rotten tomatoes rating? That is the most comical thing about it all. A 75% rating from rotten tomatoes?? Wow. No, absolutely do not waste your time.

    Forget the box
This movie can't be pinned down to one genre, and is all the better for it. Surprising and clever in many ways. I loved the way in which the writer also tied in the metaphor of losing yourself in a relationship and fear of commitment. Jake Lacy is always a favorite to watch and is perfect in this role. Maika Monroe played her character with precision, and their chemistry worked well for the development of the story. The setting was beautiful and lended itself both to the believability and the eeriness. I hope this film gets the audience it deserves and inspires other films to not limit genres by their usual tropes.
