I watched this with sweaty palms
Some movies gently pluck at your heartstrings. Others, with their jump scares, might set your heart racing. But it's a rare gem that makes your palms sweat and your feet tingle. "Fall" is that gem. Sure, some of the dialogue and plot twists might provoke an eye roll-like two supposedly fierce and independent women falling apart over one guy-but I still give this film high marks for its primary mission: instilling a primal fear of heights.

Grace Caroline Currey, as Becky, nails the role of the terrified climber, each step up the ladder laden with palpable fear and insecurity, mirroring the audience's own trepidation. Meanwhile, Virginia Gardner, channeling a young Reese Witherspoon, is both the brave optimist and the eye candy, adding a dynamic contrast to Currey's anxiety.

The magic lies in the swooping camera angles and cleverly edited close-ups, making the dizzying heights feel all too real. Halfway through the movie, when you notice your palms are clammy, you'll understand exactly why.

    Tough watch
Watching "Fall" (2022) was an intense and heart-pounding experience. The movie's suspenseful and nerve-wracking scenes often compelled me to pause and catch my breath, a clear indication that this film is not for the faint of heart.

The cinematography in "Fall" is breathtaking, effectively using vertigo-inducing shots that make the audience feel as if they are perched precariously on the edge along with the characters. This visual storytelling is one of the movie's strongest aspects, as it immerses viewers in the harrowing situation and evokes genuine fear.

The acting, while generally decent, had moments that left me wanting more depth and nuance. Both Grace Caroline Currey (Becky) and Virginia Gardner (Hunter) deliver solid performances, especially in scenes that require them to convey raw fear and desperation. However, there are instances where the emotional impact could have been stronger with more nuanced portrayals. Despite these minor shortcomings, the actors effectively create a sense of camaraderie and tension that drives the story forward.

"Fall" is particularly challenging for viewers with a fear of heights or vertigo. The relentless height-related anxiety is a central element, making the film a visceral experience. There were several moments when I had to look away from the screen due to the sheer intensity of the scenes. The movie does an excellent job of maintaining suspense, keeping viewers on edge from start to finish.

The minimalist approach to the storyline works in favor of the film, as it allows the audience to fully engage with the central crisis without unnecessary distractions.

This movie effectively exploits the fear of heights to create a compelling and suspenseful narrative. While the acting could have been more refined in parts, the overall experience is undeniably thrilling. If you're looking for a movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat and challenge your nerves, "Fall" is definitely worth watching. However, those with a strong aversion to heights might want to approach this film with caution.

Beyond expectetion full thriller with sweaty palms
You know the story before watching but throghout you feel that thriller with sweaty palms and i didnt expected that far that this movie will give you didnt realized how the time passed.

The idea is that even 2.000 feet high the stronger wins idea of eating condor was the shocking scene and the other with the scene of becky falling down and we got stumbled how she can pull her up while so weak.

Maybe at the final we could watch a scene of rescuing her.

And of course if you not even climb so high you make an hiking you should also inform at least one person about it. If i climbed that tower i rather bring a parachute)

    Nice but predictable redundant plot
The movie was nice, you're stressing and feel like you're at the girls situations

BUT the PLOT TWIST was soooooooooo predictable.

It's not the first film who's doing this, that's why I say it's redundant.

It's kind of tiring to see the same plot twist over and over again.

    There is no originality.

If you saw it you know what I'm talking about.

Definitely could've been better, but it's still watchable as a survival film.

If you like survival movies I would recommend : Frozen (the movie not the animated one), Thirteen Lives, Everest, Vertical Limit (only those comes in my mind right now)

    I.

The whole thing was just a no
I've never written a movie review but this one.. I just can't.

I'm almost positive these towers must be maintained in order to switch out the lightbulbs. From what I know, there are pegs or ladders all the way up to the light bulb. This would need to be maintained by law so aircraft can see. That's just the first inaccuracy. I think people get paid a lot of $$$$ to go up these and change out the bulbs. It wouldn't have been abandoned for long

Second, why are they wearing a school backpack and not a bag with chest and waist straps? Would be rather elementary to have your gear secured. If there was any thought of risk management or emergency scenarios, a small first aid kit would be basic to carry..

Third, she breaks a rung in the first 5 minutes of the climb.. that would be a sure sign that this is unsafe. The peer pressure from her friend was ridiculous. She's clearly traumatized and then she just keeps saying "okay" then consequently watches another friend die..

Forth, no way that backpack would have landed on the satellite. She couldn't hold on to the rope with barehands like that, she wouldn't have the strength or the support to bring her friend up after the latter broke.. Then she used absolutely no strength to hold herself while she's hanging off the damn thing.. her arms would damn well be shaking from being suspended.. also hanging on a rope with one hand .. NOOO it doesn't work like that

Staying up there for days would have resulted in massive windburn, sunburn, chapped lips. While sleeping they didn't secure themselves...

Charging the drone ... no .... It takes 3-4 hours to charge those batteries and ain't no way chica could hold herself up there like that for that long.. taking her shirt off at the top.. again no..

I have no climbing experience but the first thing that came to mind was using that 50ft rope cut in two to shimmy down to the latter.. or as others have said, use the friggin drone to lower the phone and bring it back up

60% of the movie is them stuck on this platform and then at the end we don't even see how she gets down. Oh and the friend being dead, it's just all so stupid

Really, I've never written a review but I've never felt so bothered by a piece of cinema.. not asking for much but without any symbolism of reality or physics or what would actually happen in any of these situations

It's not much to ask to have it seem slightly legit.. it's not a survival story it's just a bunch of horrible ideas that should've killed them both

Idk how there are so many good reviews but the movie rubber was more entertaining than this one.

    Scenefate
Ok this is almost 2 hours long movie, i think it's hard to make movie in one place Except for Quentin Tarantino haha 😆 but serious guys they try hard capturing every angle but some part is not very surprising Very predictable In fact they are forcing something to happen and it makes no sense . Lucky they choose right theme/concept, hight everyone fear of it include me or course. Really i get the fear feeling, anxiety, hurt in legs (not physically but mentally) something like that before they reach the top of tower but after they reach it everything gets boring with the conversation, not all boring, some part are great but mostly boring.

    FALL
I absolutely thoroughly enjoyed this movie all the way through. The plot is strong and the cinematography in i-max is awesome,i relly felt dizzy and uneasy when the camera was pointing down. Even though mason gooding had a small part,he was very believable, and jeffrey Dean Morgan was top notch as Becky's dad. The writers had a strong script and was easy to follow. The direction by Scott Mann was second to none. The scenery and real feeling that you were right there with the girls was awesome. Now to the 2 females that were the main hit, they were fenomenal in every aspect. I strongly recommend viewing.

Insufferable acting, non-sense and predictable plot.
I decided to watch "Fall" just out of curiosity. I saw that it gained much popularity over the Internet in summer 2022, I regret that I gave it a shot. The movie consists of a series of bad ideas made by Hunter and Becky, who are putting themselves in a very dangerous environment (being completely aware of it). This obviously led them to a life threatening situation. I can pass over the fact that screenwriters ignored every law of nature and physics, but the film is just really boring and it keeps dragging over and over. In one hour and forty minutes very little happened and at least for me, this movie was way too long, the director needed to trim at least 20 minutes out of it. The CGI is awful, also a non-expert eye can see when the green screen was used, and this is way below the modern standards, even for a small project like this one. The acting is incredibly bad: Grace Caroline Currey and Virginia Gardner are two of the worst actresses that I saw in the last few months. I would suggest a change of career.

On the bright side I can tell that there were a few sequences that were really tense and there was a decent plot twist. However, these two elements alone cannot save this movie. I don't understand how this could gain so much attention and actually generate a positive box office income.

A film for next generation of Darwinism
Yet another film about the self indulgent "my life is exciting" social media "like" counts and mind-numbing decision making.

Starts silly and you guessed it, gets sillier by the minute. Maybe I'm not in the demographic this is aimed at,but like to keep an open minded approach in the name of possibly a well made thriller to bide the time. Time was bided abd this is not only a "well made thriller" its an insult to anyone that hasn't received a full frontal lobotomy.

Dumb kids climbing things they shouldn't only to stumble their way through the 80 minutes of basic survival basics and basic decision making which both seem to be on hold here. This took two sittings to get through and it only made things worse. Wait for cable to find out.
