    Hilarious and Heartfelt
This movie is hilarious! I really can't understand the negative reviews,, except that there are some people who just don't like raunchy comedies, so each their own. This is like an Asian American girls Hangover or Girls Trip movie, but also with cultural elements and family sentiments like Joy Luck Club. I laughed so hard, some scenes were so ridiculous like oh, no, they didn't! The China scenes were beautiful and heart-warming. I don't know if there's any historical accuracy to it or if there is really a place called Hai Qing. Seems unlikely to see a blend of Mandarin and Toisan this way, but I still enjoyed it and love seeing Asian actors who look and speak like me and my family represented in mainstream American film. Everyone on the cast were hilarious in their own way and did a great job. This is definitely worth a watch.

    It lights up
I'm not the target audience, I had assumed. And yet, I find myself a few beers in on the couch and I don't regret the 90 minutes. Maybe, in the end, it was for me. Damn it, they have gone and demographed me, yet again. Anyway, algorithms aside, it was a departure from my life, it provided alternate perspectives to my own, it delivered humor interspersed with moments that triggered empathetic reactions. It's honestly not a bad movie and I think if you find yourself open to what it's trying to deliver and set your expectations set just so, you'll probably enjoy it just fine any won't regret the time spent. Because honestly, what else were you going to do with those 90 minutes? No seriously, you, the person reason this, you're this deep into my review here, you've obviously got a spare 90 minutes. Just watch it and embrace the moments you indentify with, approach the moments that are foreign to you with sincere curiosity and see where you land at the end. If you end up truely regretting it, get nothing from it and want your 90 minutes back , come find me in Perth, Australia, my name's Andrew, I'll buy you a beer. It'll take a lot more than the 90 minutes to find me but, at the end of the day, does free beer truely have a price?

One of the worst movies I've watched
Caught the beginning of this movie, and it caught me off guard with laughter so decided to watch it. That was a mistake. The first 2 or 3 minutes of this movie are funny, the rest are not.

It's not crassness that bothers me - I loved The Hangover and all the cruder comedies of that era. This one is just crass for no reason - it falls flat and just ends up making me cringe more than anything. It also spends way, way too much time talking about a certain female body part, which is so played out at this point it's become a meme.

I really expected better here based on the reviews. At the end I just kinda sit reflecting on both how bad the movie was, and how anyone could have rated this above a 1 or 2.
