The embodiment of the word epic
I have no other way of describing this movie other than an absolute masterpiece and a masterclass in cinematography, writing, acting and everything that makes a movie great.

Despite its almost 3 hour runtime the pacing of the movie is very well balanced and it doesn't leave any moments for boredom or feelings of it being dragged out. Every single scene in the movie has a purpose and is used to enhance and continue the plot. If anything, I would love to see an extended cut because the only thing I want after having watched this movie is more of it.

And while I have noticed a few complaints from the book reading part of the Dune fandom, I for one liked the changes Vilneuve implemented into the movie and I think some of them made a lot more sense from the perspective of not alienating non book reading audiences and also to further illustrate Frank Herbert's vision.

So overall, I think this is one of those few movies that I would consider a must watch and I am certain that people will talk about this milestone in the medium of cinema for a long time to come.

    Visually Phenomenal
This movie is major, major eye candy. CGI is incredibly flawless. Any and all visuals are way above average. There is no hit or miss. It is always a hit. The cinematographer and CGI studios behind this film have created a piece of perfect art. But it isn't all about looks...

The story here is pretty simple to follow, but still good. Characters are amazing and are all superb actors/actresses, with one exception: Christopher Walken as Emperor did not fit, however, even though he is an amazing actor.

Furthermore, set and sound design are incredible. And some of the most interesting/beautiful costumes I've ever seen in movies.

This is just an amazing film. I didn't see it on the big screen which I missed out on, but on smaller screens it is still very enjoyable.

    There are 3 flaws, however:

    1) Christopher Walken doesn't fit.

    2) Anya Taylor-Joy's part seemed pointless. She is a really good actress, but it just seemed they just wanted to cram another famous face in this film.

    3) There was an excessive amount of shots of just Zendaya (Chani) making an angry face.

sorry but incredible boring and flat story
Honestly, I don't get it - this movie is slow, has very little story to it (yes great special effects!), is super amazing boring and really doesn't go into any depth with the story telling. Not sure if it's me and I have too many expectations or it's simply flat as most movies are nowadays. This is definitely NOT a brilliant movie that replaces (as the producers said) Star Wars and the Empire Strikes Back... it's a special effect expanded movie that could have been shortening down to basically an hour. Really don't get it why people are so excited about it. At least, not me and I'm open minded.
