dotroy - 5 May 2023 Could not be worse than this Pointless plot and pointless love story ! Forced gay couple with weird set of friends. This movie is something which you can play and wash the dishes. You would not miss a thing. Every move, every turn is predicable and boring. A city girl doing wire fences in a rural farm, wince when ? The same girl who divorced her husband because he was not ambitious enough suddenly did not care about money when she learn that the man she just slept with is a wine mogul. The utter dishonest in her and the needy man believing this whole story is beyond wisdom. This story better suits for teen age crown who believes in pointless love story which teaches them to get drunk, show interest in a man and then sleep with that man and suddenly break up. This movie is the most boring thing ever.
strmai - 24 August 2022 Almost The script, the story is good... Too much rom com esthetics (pink and nice schade of baby blue) .... Could not stop thinking how much better this movie could be with a " marvel" look! But it's a good crossover... The casting is very good ...at least the women characters.
I enjoyed it 😋
cgvsluis - 29 June 2022 This was an excellent palate cleanser for this romantic! Lately, quite a few rom-coms have let me down. They have made big promises, but then haven't kept them. A Perfect Pairing kept it simple, straightforward and sweet...and I, as a romantic at heart, really appreciated it. This really was the perfect romantic palate cleanser.
This is the second film that I have seen with Adam Demos cast as the romantic lead and he is really winning me over with his charm. Both times he has played subtle, supportive, chivalrous characters and that paired with his good looks has left an impression. I am actually looking forward to seeing more of his work in the future.
This is the story of Lola, an American sommelier who quits her job at an LA wine import company to start her own import business. Lola takes a huge risk to fly to Australia to try to convince a celebrity boutique winery to sign with her new company as their exclusive importer. She has a good pitch, but the owner Hazel Vaughn doesn't want to go with a start up company...but she does need a Jackaroo on her sheep ranch. Hoping to win Hazel over with her pitch and not afraid of hardwork, Lola volunteers to be the Sheilaroo. She is then left in the hands of Max to show her the ropes and get her up to speed.
Surprisingly plucky and hardworking, it is Lola's positivity and determination that really win everyone on the sheep ranch over making this an endearing and feel good romantic comedy.
There are some beautiful Australian outback shots...but surprisingly there are only a couple wildlife moments, a brown snake and a young kangaroo. That surprised me, as when I was in Australia...we had lot more wildlife encounters! I do wish my experience was more like this film however as we didn't meet anyone like Adam Demos and everything we met was deadly and trying to kill us (totally understand the thought that Australia hates you!...even the sun, it really is killer there. Hats-mandatory.).
If you are a romantic this film might be for you...just what the doctor ordered.
PerryAtTheMovies - 13 June 2022 A decent blend.... 6.8/10
I expected a cheesy film, and that's exactly what I got. However, it wasn't as cheesy as I anticipated. While it hits all the classic tropes of a RomCom it still comes across as an enjoyable movie.
The acting is strong. Everyone felt appropriate for their roles. The chemistry between Victoria Justice and Adam Demos is cute. They suite each other well in this film. I wasn't questioning why they paired together. I also appreciate that this film wasn't entirely Americanized. The Australian actors brought in some lingo that I had never heard before and it felt more authentic that way.
Like I said above the film hits the tropes of a RomCom. That being said, the story wasn't entirely strong. While it was emotional at times, and the story made sense, there were parts that could've been changed, like the reason for the "separation of lovers". While it did work in context, it didn't sit right as it played out. (Would've just liked to see different reasoning)
Overall, this was a good and decent film. I would recommend checking it out if you're looking for a good date night movie. Remember it's cheesy, but not overly cheesy, so it's still enjoyable.
Thank you for taking the time to read my review. Until next time.... Enjoy the show!
