    Had way better expectations!
They don't make them like before anymore. Action comedies were and still are my favourite kind of movies. However, those new action comedies just don't feel the same. Now there are definitely some exclusions but Argylle isn't one of them. Reclusive author Elly Conway writes best-selling espionage novels about a secret agent named Argylle who's on a mission to unravel a global spy syndicate. However, when the plots of her books start to mirror the covert actions of a real-life spy organization, the line between fiction and reality begin to blur.

I'm just really disappointed! This had so much potential especially with that huge cast. Making the characters actually funny makes them more relatable too which in return creates a certain bond between the viewer and the movie. But the presence of many characters in this movie make it lose that element. You could not get enough of any character to build a connection with. Well except with the main character Elly, who I personally found a bit too annoying. Although some of the jokes were funny, there was a lot of forced comedy. One of my favourite parts of any action movie are the plot twists, which were very abundant in this movie. However, the problem is that they were too abundant; some were good and shocking (especially towards the end) but some had some bad delivery and didn't make much sense. Also, the post credit scene was shocking and exciting.

Another problem I had with this is that the action wasn't that special. There were indeed a lot of action scenes and some were prolonged but I really didn't feel that impressed with them. And when there were narration scenes, I just felt bored. I'm not sure if it's the weak script or the way it was delivered but something was definitely off there.

    Score:6/10.

Your cozy, funny, unique and innovative spy thriller adventure
Definitely sets a new, innovative and unique tone to the classics of the spy genre! I really enjoyed this one. It has a great mix of plot twists, comedy and action.

Some would say its abit silly maybe and i would think that normally too, but i think it's almost perfectly balanced, have something special to it, and gives that vibe you want of a genuinely funny, comedy spy thriller adventure.

Its actually pretty smart and clever made. The plot is something new to the genre, something you havent seen before.

The acting is great by every actor, manuscript only fails a few times with being a bit lame and unrealistic aswell with some plotholes, but otherwise it works great.

Its definitely a film you will get stuck into!

I really think it deserves a higher rating! Atlest over 6.5! Very well produced!

    I totally recommend this one!

Should have been fun, in the end a horrible waste
For the first half hour this is actually quite a fun movie, Sam Rockwell is genuinely funny and his delivers lines with well choreographed action sequences. Bryce Howard too, brings something fun to the table as the meek spy author about to have her world turned upside down. But, the plot simply unravels into a complete mess. If you consider the strength and calibre of this cast it's simply a horrible waste of talent and money, it somewhat feels like the homework you started off well just got rushed and rushed to the point you simple need to hand it in without checking what was on the paper... The final half hour is particularly weak and frankly tedious to the extent I actually felt angry for my early investment in the characters, truly terrible.

This movie tries to be a spy spoof but from a plot perspective it is managed like a cheap kids TV movie, it just doesn't work on any level.

It's not funny enough to be a pure comedy, not smart enough to hold the interest of anyone over the mental age of seven and excessively violent and ridiculous in equal measure such that it's not clear who this movie is for? I guess it was rather for the production executives and content schedulers who had a deadline to meet rather than any storytelling ambition.

    Succulent Silliness
With spectacular visuals including Dua Lipa, riveting action screenplay, magnificent cinematography, and chunky Bryce, carrying extra poundage quite well, along with her trademark bimbo allure, the eye candy is off the chart all the way through. Still, the stupidest, most convoluted and awkward premise and story line makes it hard to appreciate even as a spoofy parody. It is much too long, drawn out and air-headed to remain engaging, and the Henry Cavill character is uncomfortably contrived, totally unnecessary and utterly insipid. Even Samuel L. Jackson's obligatory appearance is bland and fatuous.
