godinamachine - 10 June 2024 action movie for action movies HEY EVERYBODY ITS ME (4) ....and today we review "doomguy the early years" THE MOVIE !
Now like alot of people ive been waiting to see this one for a few, why i havnt seen it until now ? I cant honestly remember... has it not been on some streaming place that i probably dont care about to rent from ..maybe .... man i miss the awesome good ol days of rental stores , going in sorting through the tons of movies...finding a few to rent and going home .....streaming really has taken the experience out of it all ....
WELP why is th movie called SISU ?!?!!?? Thats not his name or what they called him ... i dont even recall hearing it said once the whole time ... weird ...maybe i just missed it BUT HOLY CRAP THIS MOVIE IS AWESOME ... they did a great job keeping it simple , very linier but not boring .... literally traveling down the road , heading to the destination .... not complicated with 17 different locations and a cityscape to cover , no long drawn out story plots and dramatic side quests to get lost in ...just really gritty simple ..straight to it type action and ...just ..nice ... these types of films are rare ....
the acting was REALLY good, everyone in this was spot on good for their characters , the dialogue was well written , it doesnt have a lot but what it has is solid and well placed/used , the use of lighting was REALLY nice, so the colour correcting was great, ...pretty much everything on the technical side was perfectly done
now ...was it "realistic" as many have complained about .... yes and no ... could a man survive to the degree this man did ... yea actually, chances are slim but it is possible BUT are films meant to be REAL no they are meant to entertain .... this is an action film, and heros like john wick .... batman ... and all those always get missed from bullets etc ... or the film would be 4 minutes long lol....
SO if you like films like mad max fury road, the john wick franchise, and movies that have a solid good guy vs bad guy story ....
THIS IS YOUR FILM ....
10/10 easy .... one of the few thats deserve it.
ma-cortes - 28 April 2024 An amazing and offbeat WWII movie with lots of action, gore and blood. A peculiar WWII movie with thrills, action, violence, black humor and loads of blood and gory scenes. Set in the last, desperate days of WWII, in which a solitary prospector (Jorma Tommila) crosses paths with Germans on a scorched-earth retreat in northern Finland. When the Germans commanded by officer Bruno (Aksel Hennie) steal his gold, they quickly discover that they have just tangled with no ordinary miner. While there is no direct translation for the Finnish word "sisu", this legendary ex-commando will embody what sisu means: a white-knuckled form of courage and unimaginable determination in the face of overwhelming odds. And no matter what the Germans throw at him, the one-man death squad will go to outrageous lengths to get his gold back - even if it means killing every last German in his path. Vengeance is golden!.
Lionsgate presents, in association with Stage 6 Films, a Subzero Film Entertainment production, in association with Good Chaos this 'Sisu' that tells the wild journey of a lone gold prospector who carries out a brutal slaughter of Nazis when they come across him in the devastating desert of Lapland and steal his loot. This is an adult, engrossing and entertaining picture containing action , fun , violence, hilarious moments with tongue-in-cheek and amusement enough .This agreeable picture contains powerful and bloody images , entertainment and black humor . Beautiful scenery , colorful cinematography , thrilling musical score, wartime action and a breathtaking climax at an impressive duel lift this story . An enjoyable film by using Finnish landscape and popular beliefs, so to speak, as the source for the surprises . The actors by and large insisted on doing their own stunts. Stars Jorma Tommila and Onni Tommila as Aatami and Schütze who are played by real-life father and son, and Aksel Hennie as nasty nazi officer, the latter known for Headhunter
It is a genuine as well as imaginative tale written and directed with professionality, fairness and imagination , though some scenes are extremely violent. Filmed in 35 days with a very reduced budget, this bloody western set during the last desperate days of WWII, divided into chapters, and it won half of the awards, included in the award for best film, at the 2022 Sitges festival.
The cinematography struck me as really nice. Very fine shot by cameraman Kjell Lagerroos and well chosen shots. It's all very delicious to look at. The movie was well directed by Finnish filmmaker Jalmari Helander and it was fairly successful at the box office , but for adult audience , not too much for kiddies due to excessive gore, guts and blood. The wild feats take place in Finnish Lapland, Ivalo, Kruununhaka, Nuorgam, and Utsjoki. Writer/filmmaker Jalmari Helander was born on July 21, 1976 in Helsinki, Finland. He is a director and writer, known for Sisu (2022) ,Big game (2014) with Samuel L. Jackson and Onni Tommila and Rare Exorts (2010) that stars very well his little nephew Onni Tommila, along with Jorma Tommila . Rating : 6.5/10 .Well worth watching .
Meeresrauschen - 16 March 2024 Finally a nazi-killing movie that isn't afraid of pulling punches Its a shame we don't have more movies like this.
Like a perfect mix of John Wick and Wolfenstein!
It manages to give us a silent protagonist and beautiful sceneries.
And the best thing is you absolutely don't need to have much dialogue in this movie.
In fact, I wish more movies would have the guts to create a masterpiece like this!
One determined and seemingly undestructable badass who wipes the floor with nazi-bastards.
We don't need to be reminded in every movie how bad nazis are, with hour-long sob-stories and characters who must walk cautious or need to be rescued every five minutes.
This movie reminded me how many possibilities there are and how one-man armies need to return to nazi-slapping.
Next step:
Make a Return to castle Wolfenstein movie please.
