    Bad influence
How unlikable she is, the whole movie is unlikable.

She used dead people as a chance to mare reputation. But in the end, the movie did not show enough how much her life is screwed and the consequences.

The movie gives kind of vibe that, "it is okay to do these kinds of things because at some point your life is going to be okay".

Two points that demonstrate the above statement clearly are,
    • She gets sympathy from her parents. Specially "father"
    • The lead of the second group she goes to, shows her sympathy
The movie could be a good one if it showed how cruel she was and its consequences. I conclude that this movie gives a bad impression to society.

Liars, Narcissists & Sociopaths will hate this...
This holds up a mirror to the worst of our society, what is prioritized and the desperation many have to achieve it.

Zoey does a great job at playing someone self-serving who clearly lacks empathy. Even her mannerisms & sometimes emptiness behind the eyes is spot on.

Dylan had me cackling. Had no idea he had these kinds of comedy chops & he personified this role so perfectly down to the characters laugh. I've known someone just like this and it's so accurate.

The gal who plays Rowan has such great range, can't wait to see her in more.

You can decipher/feel Nadia aka Harper's every glance, and I cheered her on with glee.

Well-directed. Liked the pacing. I enjoyed this a lot. I was hoping for something not too heavy but topical and it does a great job at making fun while calling out.

I realize this may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's mine, and I'd take a second cup!

A film so bad my mum won't talk to me
This film was so bad that when I put it on one Thursday morning, my mum watching as well, when the movie finished she got up and told me that she blames me for putting this on and won't speak to me from now on.

    I don't blame her.

The thing is that this film could have been good if it had actually focused on a survivor of an attack. The only thing that was actually any good was Mia Issac as Rowan Aldren, she absolutely killed it in this movie and her Spoken Word at the end is the only thing that stops the film from being garbage on a screen.

You just can't have a protagonist that insufferable, not have her learn anything and expect people to like the movie. The movie even warns you that the film is going to be spoiled by an unlikeable protagonist but it does nothing with that.

    Another movie people don't understand
I read a few reviews here and it's kinda hilarious how people are upset that the main character doesn't seem to get a redemption arc or grows in any way. I strongly disagree by the way. Zoey Deutch's character is incredibly selfish, so selfish that she is not able to feel empathy for others or even worse that she is not able to have the tought that other people might be affected by here actions in a bad way.

Now for the ending: After everything is revealed and everyone hates her, she again starts to just think about herself. I am so bad. I learned this and that. I need therapy. And then ultimately: i need to fix rverything gor me and get my redemption. Thats why she writes that sorry speech and heads to the public stage. But there is her true redemption while listening to rowans side and opinions. This is the first time that she feels real empathy and accepts the fact that rowan ia better off without her. She finally acted unselfishly.
