Incredibly bad and stupid movie, that you'll probably still have fun watching
This was a truly terrible, D-grade movie, with a lot of really fun, mindless monster battles that made me feel like a kid for a couple hours : )

Ok first, the BAD: From a normal movie standpoint, this was BAD, like complete trash, embarrassingly so. No exaggeration, the WORST acting I think of any movie I've ever seen. That's not a hot take. This was major Fremdschämen territory.

Main lady scientist (SO cringe), submarine captain, signals/blogger sidekick guy, and several others were just insufferably bad. Crazy vet guy seemed like he was having fun I guess.

The most convincing acting in the movie probably came from CGI Kong... (and, ok, to be fair, the young actress playing the Iwi island refugee actually did a great job and seemed believable).

It's also extremely cheesy, with pretty horrible sound design & mixing (get ready for like 30% of the soundscape to be the same over-compressed rumbling sounds and uninspired/repetitive ape groans).

There was also a lot of pretty STUPID writing, and completely ridiculous, unexplained "magic" technology fixes for everything by the human characters. The pacing was ok in the first half, but a sloppy, unconvincing mad rush to wrap up the story in the second half.

Now the GOOD: There was PLENTY of ridiculous Kaiju battling going on in an almost cartoonish/Marvel-movie sort of way, that reminded me of being a kid growing up on Godzilla movies, and playing with all the action figures. I think as a kid, I would have LOVED this movie.

Despite all of the obviously terrible cinematic issues (that SOMEHOW managed to fall short of my exceedingly low expectations going in), I still had a lot of fun watching it and was delighted by several moments in the monster battles.

At the end of the day, it was a fun diversion. If you like Godzilla and/or grew up on these kinds of movies, you'll probably have fun with it as well.

Kong Vs Zoo - Franchise Destroyed!
This movie will go down well with people who love Marvel movies and other animated movies.

To even put Godzilla in the title of this movie is close to blasphemy. It could be titled Kong Vs Zoo, it would be more appropriate. Random monkeys thrown in from left and right, and a lot of CGI fillers from "The real of the cursed underworld of bad apes" or whatever TF they called this tragedy of a new universe they created, that no person with an IQ over "20 years old" will believe in.

The producers are clearly trying to appeal to a new (and younger) audience - willingly or unwillingly (?) abandoning old fans of the genre.

And one more thing, any moment that could have had a bit of tension and excitement, was ruined by a miserable soundtrack that didn't fit the specific situation. Very very odd.

This franchise is dead to me. I wasted 2 hours of my life watching this pile of crap. Now you've been warned.

7/10, suitable for those who miss the monsterverse.
I've been waiting a long time for this film to be shown in cinemas, but unfortunately I couldn't watch it in the cinema and ended up watching it at home.

I personally have followed the monsterverse from Godzilla (2014), therefore I'm happy that there are more monsterverse films, but it's wrong to have high expectations. The point of the film is a bit confused, Skar King is actually easy to beat, even Kong himself if it's Skar King without Shimu. If Skar King isn't holding Shimu hostage? There's no need for Kong to go to the surface that appears in Egypt and finally the pyramid is destroyed (:0). This just shows kaiju fighting, and I also don't like endings that are like "that's all?" it feels insufficient and too fast.

I'm also confused about the title of the film "New Empire"????? What's new empire?????

To be honest, I watched this just to get rid of my longing for Godzilla, yes, the humor between Kong and Godzilla is quite funny, only suitable for watching that doesn't take itself seriously, but it's not bad.

    Yet another BAD movie.
From the reviews and ratings, several people seem to be easily entertained or they are paid shills.

    It's just another banal movie.

The story and dialogue is so bad. Are they just taking a few hack-eyed ideas and throwing it at AI and letting it churn out some nonsense?

The acting? I would be embarrassed. None of these "actors" were capable of what is needed to pull off playing a major character in a movie.

Hall appeared to be phoning it in and her character was annoying and boring.

Henry was not funny. End of story.

    Stevens was amateurish.

Hottle just looked like she was constipated the entire movie.

Three of my favorite monsters characters, Kong, Godzilla, and Mothra, and they all looked awful with cheap looking CGI. Mothra was the worst. I'll take the old Japanese version over this new one any day.

Just watch one of their old movies, even the bad ones. You will have a better time.
