    This movie was very deceiving!
I must say this film had me fooled after reading the film description and it had me thinking it was like gonna involve more action and violence and stuff. As the film carried on I thought omg this is actually a slow burn movie and at times I thought about just giving up and stopping to watch it but I have a tendency to be very irritated wondering how something ends regardless if its good or bad. So anyway I was very glad I kept watching because what it lacks in action & excitement it makes up with intrigue & mystery and it kinda makes you wonder theirs gotta be more to this film then just so much talking lol. Its filmed nicely and the plot was written so very well that even for me where I normally get bored of movies with no action or excitement and yet even I must admit how amazing this film turned out to be. The acting was very good by the main character, it was such an impressive performance for someone to just talk, talk and talk so much without doing much at all and still make a film so successful lol. To be clear its not a film for everyone, so if you could resist the urge to giveup halfway and watch it through till the end you I believe most people might just be as shocked as I was at how good it turned out to be.

A stage play on the big screen
The action never leaves the shop, the main men (Rylance & Russell Beale) are stage giants.

The story of a mobster tailor, sorry cutter, that draws you in slowly, slowly on a cold snowy mid-fifties night. A story of betrayal, love and fabric in which the sands of each person shifts, so you're never certain of who each character is.

Due to the limited stage, this means you have to concentrate on the dialogue, the meanings and the performances of acting titans. Perhaps in danger of over-egging the character development, it's a change from the usual Hollywood shoot-em-ups.

Worth at least 1h 45 of your time.

An excellent film that's all about the story and characters
Any film that Mark Rylance appears in is worth looking at. You'll not be disappointed if you do give this a viewing.

Set in 1950s Chicago in a snowy winter - the action takes place almost entirely inside a Tailor's workplace.

It's not got a cast of thousands or big budget stunt teams but that just means the story and the characters have to keep you entertained.

No overlong and overblown car chases through Rome or something similar. No heroes running along the top of a train. Please. Those two were done to death. They're boring. What we want is engrossing stories and actors. If we want to see someone parachute off a mountain then we have YouTube for that.

A great small budget movie that keeps you gripped for the full run time and doesn't outstay it's welcome.

    Enjoy it.

Tailored to perfection...as near as it gets!
Not normally a Mark Rylance fan. Find him a bit "samey" in most rolls.

However this was a a great roll for him and he played the part superbly.

Saying that the rest of the cast, not that there was many of them, were also fantastic.

Starts of slowly but draws you in and keeps your attention easily.

The movie is confined to a couple of rooms which adds to build up of the story. As a watcher you feel enclosed in the rooms with the characters which adds to the tension as the movie builds.

And indeed it does build to a superb twisting climax.

Who needs mega money blockbuster movies when movies like this have everything you want to be entertained.

A well done mystery with some twists
Enjoyed this film. It was not what I expected at all. One of my favorite things about this was how the entire film was shot within the three rooms of the gentleman's storefront. Enjoyed the storyline/plot a lot. It was a quite mysterious movie with a lot of unexpected twists. Seems to move slow, but yet I was still captured by it. I do not watch a lot of movies so I did not recognize any of the actors. Didn't matter, It was still a very good watch. I recommended it to several of my friends. It was interesting to learn the difference between a Tailor and a Cutter. That was interesting, also the part about the Blue Jeans.

    Step by step
This film, an exception in a host of large productions, with lots of sound, effects and action. The film's plot about the tailor, or the clipper as he calls himself, builds up the plot gradually. I really liked the film, I think it was both entertaining and a film where the dialogue is central. But I don't think it's to everyone's taste, for that it is perhaps too little changing in scenes and bears the stamp of being a simple, low-budget film that still keeps the excitement going.

New director Graham Moore provides the thrill of being close to the actors, and layer upon layer of action. It will be exciting to see what he can create in the years ahead, this promises well in that respect.

    Enjoyed but kinda drug on...
This definitely made a turn halfway through. I liked it. It wasn't as predictable as I expected. Like peeling an onion this one, and just when I thought I knew, even more unfolds. The main guy is great actor. It was kind of Mr Rogers/ Pulp fiction meets Alfred Hitchcock. I would recommend if you like things that aren't completely mainstream. If you're one of those people that watches anything off the beaten path and thinks "that was dumb", this probably isn't the movie for you. Husband would have thought it was dumb, but he also calls me the worst movie picker ever. Hope this was helpful to someone.
