    Great family film
Had everything you want in a great family film. Adventure, fantasy, positive messages, a little scariness to keep you on the edge of your seat, and a great ending. Kids loved it. It was very well acted and really took you on the journey. It wasn't too complicated so the kids could figure out what was happening but it left enough surprise to be exciting. I thought the cinematography was very good, some really pretty scenes. The characters were quite quirky and there were a few laughs through in for good measure. The pig character added an element of fun that was really worth it. All in all a very good and enjoyable watch.

Children will love this fantasy and stay engaged. So will their parents.
IN A NUTSHELL: The story is based on the comic strip series called "Little Nemo in Slumberland" by Winsor McCay. Slumberland takes audiences to a magical new place, a dreamworld where precocious Nemo (Marlow Barkley) and her eccentric companion Flip (Jason Momoa) embark on the adventure of a lifetime. After her father Peter (Kyle Chandler) is unexpectedly lost at sea, young Nemo's idyllic Pacific Northwest existence is completely upended when she is sent to live in the city with her well-meaning but deeply awkward uncle Phillip (Chris O'Dowd). Her new school and new routine are challenging by day but at night, a secret map to the fantastical world of Slumberland connects Nemo to Flip, a rough-around-the-edges but lovable outlaw who quickly becomes her partner and guide. She and Flip soon find themselves on an incredible journey traversing dreams and fleeing nightmares, where Nemo begins to hope that she will be reunited with her father once again.

THINGS I LIKED: Unlike Jason Momoa's most recent movie, The Last Manhunt where he has very little screen time, Slumberland features his comedic chops in many of the scenes. He provides goofy fun and whimsy.

Marlow Barkley gave a fantastic performance, especially for such a young actress. She constantly reminded me of Saoirse Ronan. I could easily see the two together in a movie about two sisters or a mother and daughter.

I really enjoyed Chris O'Dowd and Kyle Chandler in their roles too.

I like the subtle connections. For example, Philip sells doorknobs, while Flip is constantly looking for doors to open. Captain Nemo fights a giant octopus in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, while Nemo's nightmare is about an evil fog that looks like an octopus.

    Entertaining special effects.

Fun fact: The poem that is read at the funeral is called "Crossing the Bar", written by Alfred Lord Tennyson.

Children will love this fantasy and stay engaged. So will their parents.

You'll laugh on the inside, as well as on the outside.

There is an emotional depth that rewards the audience with meaningful insights.

Little Jacob So was ridiculously adorable as the truck driver.

THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE: What is so terrible about having a protagonist who is a boy? Nowadays, every boy lead has been replaced by girls in movies. Such is the case of this movie adaptation of the comic strip which was originally about a boy named Nemo.

Why wasn't Winsor McCay given on-screen credit for creating the characters in the movie?

Some bad CGI moments that take you out of the magic.

Some of the action sequences are extremely chaotic.

TIPS FOR PARENTS: People in dangerous situations The death of a father leaves a girl orphaned Nothing is too scary Destruction It is very family-friendly.

    Fun & touching!
What can we say about this movie other than WE LOVED IT!!! If you have ever lost someone in any manner whatsoever then you will absolutely love this movie. Without giving to much of the plot away there are two people in the movie that lost someone. This is their story of how they deal with the loss & how they cope differently.

Even with all of that then there is the dream world which is at times hilarious & Jason Momoa did an outstanding job bringing it all together. We went from laughing our butts off to feeling so sad that it brought a tear to our eyes.

Yes it's campy at times, yes the acting in spots fell flat but overall this movie was wildly entertaining & we loved it.

A perfect 10! A must watch for all ages.
My first perfect 10 review in years. What an amazing movie! Actually I should say journey because this film makes you feel like you're part of it because you'll find a real connection with at least a couple characters in this movie if not all. The special effects, including the giant geese they rode, were fantastic. Whether or not you've had a loss like this young girl experienced, you'll be reeled in and it will be hard to take your eyes off the TV. There is so much creativity I was just in awe. If you're looking for a movie that will make you forget about all of your worries in life for a couple hours this is it-nothing else will matter. You'll be able to sit back and be part of an adventure. I'm not sure how the writers and directors did it but I could not find one scene that could have been better. They worked hard to make sure the entire score was top-notch entertainment. To top this off it ended with a heartwarming message at the end.

    A fantastic dreamland
It's a movie about imaginative dreams. Maybe because I went back and forth between my dream and the real world, I focused more on the movie. I recommend this movie to those who want to find childhood innocence and those who want to see a fantasy movie. I remember the scene where the main character Nemo dreamed of meeting his father the most.

    Annoying, Irritating Girl ever
Don't watch this movie... You bp will get higher... Irritating girl ever... She is going to the most dangerous travel only for avoid school... Her minset - Schools are totally waste, kids don't need schools... Who the director is? Worst concept... And 90% Kids movies are testing audience mindset... But Directors, your movies god low reviews... Reason this type of illogical characters in movies... One slap is enough if school kids hate schools and studies... No need to give this much budget for a movie... You are misleading kids and injecting the concept of hating schools.. You mentioned schools are jail, But without school there is nothing in this world....

    Fun & Adventurous!
I was like not another film involving a kid in it... I hate movies that have little kids in it cause its always annoying their behaviours n how they cry n whine but i gave it a shot just cause the Lead Aquaman Actor is in it!

I must say it was a joyful n fun ride while watchin this film. This film centres on a plot that i am sure many kids and adults have dreamt of doing at least once or many times in their lives and the quality of visuals is stunning n vividly detailed.

Theirs lots of fun to be had in this film as Jason Momoa puts on one of his best performances ever! Often you see him cast as a serious character from his Aquaman days too even back in his Stargate Atlantis days, often just some stern looking angry face guy but in this film its as if Jason Momoa meets Willy Wonka lol.

Literally hes like Willy Wonka had a baby with a japanese Pirate who loves anime lmao. U get the serious side, then u get the fun n wacky side, u get him trying to act like a little schoolgirl at times lol and then u get the thieving personality of a pirate all in 1

Honestly give this film a shot cause its fun filled and has amazing visual quality on the CGI.

    Wonderful tear-inducing movie.
Wow. I was brought to tears by this movie. It was so unique and well acted. I highly recommend it. It struck a chord with me, and I was not expecting how into it I would be, and how emotional it would be. The little girl is quite the actress. I'm not usually a fan of Jason Momoa, nothing against him at all, just have never been that impressed with him. His role was really cute and charming. I don't want to give too much of the plot away, but it's super adventurous, sweet, funny, and moving as heck. You do have to pay attention. At first I had it on in the background and realized I was into it and got sucked in within the first few minutes. I couldn't turn it off. It wasn't predictable in my opinion - there was an "aha" moment in the middle of the movie that others might've seen coming - but we didn't. You should've seen the faces on me and my daughter. Ha. I wasn't bored at all. I think it was a great movie for people of all ages - well maybe 8+ (depending on the kids' ability to handle creepy faceless nightmare darkness). Brilliant. There was only one plot hole that confused me a little toward the end, regarding people jumping into others' dreams. But it was very enjoyable. I want to watch it again.
