Love the young black girl performance!!!
Amazing performance by Paige Pickle the young black girl. Such a strong character and witty personality. Looking forward to seeing more of her. She seems a great addition to thie all star cast of Jamie Foxx and Megan. Her performance could be the beginning of a great career in Hollywood. In all the movie was captivating and entertaining. Bravoooo!

Netflix movie without the Netflix movie stink!
All of the Netflix original movies FEEL like Netflix original movies. They feel like SyFy original movies.... watchable... but clearly not made to show theatrically. But not this gem. I had a blast watching it. It's genuinely funny. Has genuinely good theatrics (with regards to the gymnasts used as vampires). And the characters are genuinely relatable. Jamie's performance was likable and Dave's performance was entertaining and funny. Even Snoop killed it. Where I would have normally rolled my eyes... I was actually laughing and enjoying what I saw. Great dinner movie if you have teen kids. (There's no sex but a decent amount of "F" bombs)

    Better Than Expected
I had an hour to kill and figured I'd give this a go based on the premise that it's a black comedy and I was in the mood for it. I started watching it fully ready to be disappointed but was quite engaged.

Jamie Fox is always charismatic but at times pushes a bit too much. Dave Franco was the real revelation though. His character could have been grating and annoying but it was handled well. He was actually funny a few times where he had no right to be. Snoop Dogg is also worth watching. Okay enough villain.

I'm not one to choose action over storytelling but this one did have some good set pieces. The fighting was mostly nicely choreographed but it was a car chase which really had me - extremely dynamic camera work in that one.

A number of plot holes here and there but I found myself willing to close an eye because it's a fun movie.

    Better Than Expected
With Netflix, the movies are hit or miss so I wasn't expecting a whole lot. I guess that's why I was pleasantly surprised. It's kinda like a 90's buddy cop action flick, only brought to present day and loaded with vampires.

The visuals and the choreography are quite good (a lot of the vampire actors are actually contortionists). The plot isn't super deep, but I didn't expect it to be.

Foxx and Franco have good chemistry, with Franco playing the fish out of water straight man to Foxx's loose cannon forced to play by the rules.

I was also pleasantly surprised to see that Snoop Dogg has a bit of range, not a lot, but enough. It's a nice change from the days when Snoop would pop up in movies and just be himself.

Of course, they took a few artistic liberties with the vampire lore, but that's to be expected. What's important is that it worked for the story.

If you want a bloody action flick with a few good laughs and some good vampire fights, this one will do it for you.

    It's okay
The film is kind of like a horror comedy thriller, about a "pool cleaner" in Los Angeles who is in some sort of a secret organization that hunts vampires and kills them to earn money.

Ok so I pretty much like the story. I had quite a bit of fun watching it. The action scenes are pretty good. The acting is great and Jamie Foxx and Snoop Dog are fantastic. I wasn't impressed much with James Franco though. I mean I didn't find him really that funny, I guess. Well the story is, of course, very predictable...I mean, what do you expect? It's a Netflix film.

I mean, it's a dumb but quite entertaining movie so maybe you might want to watch it in Halloween.

    I thought it was alright
Ok, so Snoop Dog wasn't that great but he filled a hole. Dave Franco was as versatile as always - that guy looks so young! Jamie Foxx was, well, Jamie Foxx.

After the opening scene things slow down a bit and you almost switch off. It's hammered home that mum and dad have separated and mum is threatening to move away with Jamie's child so Jamie needs to earn money for them to stay. Kinda classic separated parents movie type thing. However throw in a load of vampires and vampire killing along with some super vampires and it was ok.

My favourite scene has to be ripping a vampire's arm off and hitting them across the head with it.

Sorry to the nay-sayers this was a good entertaining film that required you to just relax and not think too hard. I would say it had the same vibes as "From Dusk Till Dawn" and "Evil Dead"
