    Not a great movie
This movie is saved by great acting, specially from Hamm. The supporting cast is also really good but the plot is just too contrived. Some parts go too fast but most of the movie it goes on and on and on. Mainly like this review will end up being because I cannot believe I cannot just give a short and sweet review about a movie that was entertaining but not more than that.

I don't regret watching this movie but I was expecting more, some sort of plot twist. Well, now that I think of it, there is a bit of a plot twist but it is so mild that it doesn't really save the movie.

It does cause a few chuckles here and there.

    Fine but Forgettable 80's Revamp
Practically a continuation of a the FLETCH series in a new actor. Fletch this time around is asked by his girlfriend to help uncover the missing art of his father who is kidnapped, whilst getting entangled in the murder of this said girl's ex-beau. This causes him to maraud a bunch of crazy characters to solve multiple mysteries related to the art and the apparent kidnapping of his lover's father.

Its a fine film. The twist and turns goes berserk but never really goes convoluted. The acting from Hamm was delightful and pictured competently than average. Its fun to watch but it is not something I would remember in the long run. Everything just blends together AND its something you'd expect rotated on HBO and like.

I confess this was painfully unfunny
What a horrible movie. Jon Hamm has all the charisma of a wet rag. Not sure who at the studio thought it was a good idea to cast him as Fletch. Not that I'm a fan of Chevy Chase either, but at least he brought something to the role, and his Fletch movies worked, for what they were. Jon Hamm brings nothing at all. And nothing in this film works. The supporting cast are annoying and unlikable. The story is boring and pointless. The acting all around is pretty bad. None of the jokes are funny. The dialogue is pathetic. I sure hope this isn't the start of a new Fletch series, because there is no need for another painfully bad film. Fletch, please go away.

    Five Stars!
Jon Hamm is perfect as Fletch. Five Stars! I liked the Chevy ones, but Confess, Fletch is much more like the books... and I loved the books! Five Stars! The other actors play their characters perfectly... Hopefully Mignon has kept Eve alive...Inspector Monroe & Griz will come after anyone that hasn't read the books thoroughly before criticizing how Confess, Fletch follows regulations. The Countess Sylvia de Grassi is fabulously too expensive. Five Stars! Ronald Horan, just don't touch him...and Frank Jaffe wants at least a thousand words on why you don't understand how "bespoke" Jon Hamm is for this character...Five Stars!

    Horribly not funny
Although I like John Hamm as an actor, terrible choice to play I. M. Fletcher! This movie was so disappointing. Maybe not fair to compare him to Chevy Chase, but John Hamm just doesn't pull off the comedic timing like Chevy Chase did, not even close! The story is kind of lame too. Didn't even so much as smile until about the 30 minute mark. Just another example of Hollywood trying to bring back a classic and failing. I had my reservations, but thought I'd give it a chance anyway. I regret spending the $5 to rent it on Amazon. Honestly, in hind sight, I probably wouldn't watch it again if it was free.
