Solid & Entertaining Action & Vengeance Flick
Holds its own as an entertaining action & vengeance movie with an surprisingly international cast set in Texas. Enough unique tweeks are thrown into a vengeance on the wealthy bad guys story line to keep us interested. Its a classic Neeson action role, but age appropriate in casting. There is a memory/aging aspect that is important but which doesn't dominate. I liked the "team" which came together indirectly supporting Neeson's lead, with each member having some character. Guy Pierce is scruffy & sweaty here. Monica Belucci, beautiful but .... We get to see a noted Mexican actor, Harold Torres, playing a Mexican National, with some dimension to his character relative to the film overall. There is a lot more in this stew than might be anticipated & it all plays together well at a perfect pace.

This movie is a solid & serviceable action gem.

    Simple plot but amazing execution
There's something about Liam Neeson movies where you can't hate the guy, every movie he does is the same premise: He plays a badass character and kills the non-badass ones, yet he does it in a way that keeps you excited. In Memory he plays a hitman who is refuses to kill a child, however when someone kills her instead, he decides to do her justice and kills everyone who had something to do with the contract. I loved how they implemented a psychological-drama into the movie, even though it wasn't so well developed. I felt like they cut some plot from the movie to make it less than two hour long. For example the interrogation scene started, then it got finished real fast, I would've love if the plot involves corrupt cops but they refused to do that and instead they turned it into a simple revenge story. It isn't bad by a long shot, but it did not feel like a movie that gives you a valuable reason why you should watch this. Seeing Liam Neeson as a Hitman is cool, the acting is one of the best, the action scenes are well made and it's even funny at times but honestly not anything ground breaking.

If you want to watch Liam Neeson's discography from beggining to the end or you just simply want to watch anything he makes or he is a part of I would definetely recommend you Memory, otherwise if you want a full-on action with an amazing ending you should seek another movie instead.

    Had potential but disappointing
The idea of a hitman with Alzheimer's was original and was something I was interested in but on this occasion I actually think it missed the mark. There was too much emphasis on the plot and storyline which went off on a tangent instead of focusing on liam neesons characters condition which was the USP

I love liam Neeson though and his films are normally solid, all very similar but you know what your gonna get. I still can't believe he's 70!!! He looks great for that and can still rock an action film. Won't be the last liam Neeson film I watch and I'm sure he will come back with something better next time.

    Skip it
One of the worst movies I've ever seen.

Acting, set design, script, the lot; everything is lacking realism and quality.

Not a single character has any nuance or credibility. Stereotypes (and sexism) everywhere. The reputation of everyone involved in this debacle took a real hit.

While I do struggle to imagine anyone enjoying this, looking at other reviews, some did somehow. I guess b-movie action fans would find some enjoyment, but even most die hard Liam Neeson fans won't enjoy it.

Really, do yourself a favour and choose a different movie. There are plenty of brainless action movies, which still manage to entertain.

Weak plot, weak script, biased agenda, great actors doing their best.
I love a good Liam Neeson action film but this one really fell short for me. The actors do a great job with what they have been given but even they can't polish a turd.

The plot is lazy and unbelievable (owner of the immigration detention centre is allowing her son to abuse children for his own sexual pleasure) immediately we see "kids in cages", over a hundred just sat there, no TV or books. No playing (as kids would do).

The main characters never really get a meaningful back story so you don't feel any connection to them.

We learn Liam Neeson's character has a brother suffering from severe Alzheimer's disease (establishing it runs in the family and his bother will be no use in working with him on a hit) and then we never see him again.

The many other characters (apart from guy pierce and liam neeson) are all rather forgettable and more time is spent trying to work out who certain people are than enjoying the film. The ending is really weak with the rich detention centre owner woman not having any guards and gets killed easily.

The cinematography is great and the camera shots look really good but the weak story lets it all down.

    That's how it ends?
Oddly enough the actual memory issues our protagonist experiences take away some enjoyment of the movie. They're intended to add to the drama and it's a retraction instead.

Nonetheless it was still enjoyable until our hero (Neeson) suddenly decides to go suicide by cop. Why? It doesn't make sense why then and there. But before he does our other hero (Pearce) realizes he had given him a clue before his strange death. He finds a flash drive because of it only to be told it's pointless now because our hero is dead.

Well WTH was the whole point of this? So our good guys decide to take matters into own hands and take out main villain off the books. So now it feels like everything done up to that point to get evidence that our hero strangely and unnecessarily gives up life for was rendered moot. Feels like whole time was wasted.

Still give this a few stars because it's always good seeing Neeson kicking some ass. Even if it's just a little bit.
