Plot created hoping to attract some attention, hoping to participate in some festivals
As the film started, I immediately thought after a few minutes now at the minimum of Fara 4/5 times sex and needless to say I have already done 4 times sex with a married man, if you think how you knew it is very simple it is The classic beginning of a film that has nothing to say and for which there is no reason to watch this film and in fact it was so unnecessary film without meaning, in some scenes not even the actors manage to do well from the expressions can be seen that They were not very convinced of what they were doing or they did not understand what they had to do that, however, is ruined by inconsistent writing, the ugliest film of 2022.

    I think I get it???
Ok, so with the help of some explanations by others I think I now understand the plot or story. If you are really weirded out by watching it like I was...read the right spoiler reviews AFTER watching it. It's not just a stupid crazy story; it does have meaning to it. Very traumatic experiences can have serious lasting effects. That's the message, that's what is explored here.. Also, if the acting were not as good as it was, yes this might still have been a waste of time. I can almost predict most people won't like it, but for the few that do, for those few, it will have been an interesting thought provoking experience. The question is, which type are you? I personally can't stomach modern "action movies" with outlandish special effects. So I still prefer watching this type of so called psychological thriller than the super hero types that are pure fantasy with nothing but unrealistic razzale-dazzle special effects.

    The ultimate unreliable narrator
If you are looking for a film that tells its story in a normal, linear, earthing explained type of a way, then look elsewhere, this movie is not for you.

It's a slow burn, for sure. It's definitely a 'show don't tell' style of a movie. And some would even call it arthouse but I think that is overstating the case a little.

Rebecca Hall's character is insane, clearly. Let's not pussy foot around her mental illness issues, she is as mad as a wasp. The best sense I can make of the plot is that she confuses other characters in real life and with her memory as she decends into madness caused by grief, guilt and anxiety. (Probably a whole of other things as well).

Is it a good film? No, but it's certainly not a bad one.

    goofy and unrealistic
This movie starts out kind of okay and then it gets lost in itself is so many artsy offerings do these days I say this because the story of being stalked is a common enough one nevertheless it just goes places that are ridiculous and it seems that what the writer thought was a cool idea just simply isn't that good of an idea why don't I make a movie why doesn't anyone just make a movie how do people get backing for movies like this someone knows someone somewhere anyway when she took off her shoes and socks and walk to work I quit watching as you might as well when you realize how pitiful and goofy this story is.

    So dark
Directed and written by Andrew Semans, Resurrection is the story of Margaret (Rebecca Hall), a single mother and successful businesswoman. Her life is changing, as her daughter Abbie (Grace Kaufman) is leaving for college and she's having an affair with Peter (Michael Esper), a married co-worker. Then things get weird.

Abbie finds a tooth in her wallet, a tooth that may belong to the smile of David (Tim Roth), a man from her mother's past. He once had a child with her named Benjamin, a child he claimed to have consumed, leaving two fingers behind. Now, he claims that the child is still in him and begins abusing her all over again.

Resurrection is not an easy watch, a film dominated by Roth who makes its protagonists engage in what he calls kindnesses to prove his love to her. As you can see, that love is anything but typical and filled with violence, cruelty and torture. If you're ready to endure this darkness, it's also a rewarding film.

A dive in to the sinister
I would say this is more of a deep, dark, psychological thriller rather than a horror. If you are looking for jump scares or gore this is not it.

However, if you enjoy the depiction of the more sinister side of human nature you won't be disappointed.

This is no slow-burner and moves along at just the right pace to let you absorb the possibilities, and the characters that come to life thanks to the brilliant acting skills of Hall and Roth, the dynamics of which can turn on their head in an instant.

Without giving away the plot, all I can say is that what you may think this film is about is not necessarily what it will turn out to be.

This is a film about characters - not fancy production tricks.

Well worth watching, and this is one of the better films to have been released this year.

    This movie had potential,
If for anything the actors. But it's awful. Hall's character runs around manic with her hair on fire and continues to avoid telling her daughter why she is so paranoid. That bit is so frustrating. Then Roth's BS about their son being inside him is so stupid. The ending by far is the dumbest part. Don't watch this movie.
