What in the living F is the MPAA smoking NOW?!
This is a mysterious "organization" that has confounded and baffled me for decades, being a cult, horror, and exploitation fanatic for nearly as long. No way on this planet does Jackass Forever pass as an R rated film. The sheer magnitude of wall-to-wall graphic male nudity is impossible to ignore. Actually, I'd go so far to say they display genital mutilation, and on more than one occasion. The MPAA gets all bent out of shape over simulated violence (Jackass features the real thing), and female nudity, it's just, ahh, I've never been able to make sense of their totally arbitrary reasoning. Rant off.

Jackass Forever is, on one hand, more of the same (they revisit a number of classic stunts), and on the other, kind of an anomaly in the Jackass universe. First of all, obviously two mainstays are gone, and someone from Paramount sent the crew a diversity memo, when it came to adding "new" members. "Poopies" seemed to be the most prominent, and incorporated into various stunts. After the human ramp bit, I thought he got his nickname because he could fart on demand. Guess I was wrong, they don't pursue or exploit his name at all in this movie.

I give Johnny Knoxville all the credit in the world. He is the host and face of Jackass, you'd think he'd have underlings doing the more dangerous stuff. At least in the first three movies, he seems to be the guy to do some of the craziest s#!t. I mean, the guy has to use a catheter for the rest of his life due to a Jackass motorcycle stunt gone awry. He's toned it down a bit in this movie, but I must say his revisitation of getting in the ring with a bull was ill-advised. I mean, he ain't getting any younger, and he gets pretty badly injured as a result. Then again, I'm sure he doesn't back down from anything.

No, this time around, Danger Ehrin takes the brunt of the abuse. Not only would I say he endured the most pain (including psychologically), I thought it bordered on sadistic. Did something happen behind the scenes? Did he actually volunteer himself? Will I ever know?

To this franchise's credit, I wasn't bored for a second. I cringed, looked away, and said WTF out loud several times, but that's what you'd expect from these guys (depleted and of advanced age as they are).

I've gotta say, my favorite segment in the whole movie is when they bring in Tory from Mythbusters, to bust a myth created by Jackass (granted, with male nudity). Knoxville says they spent 14 years trying to successfully light an underwater fart. Leave it to a Mythbuster, he not only succeeds, but the results are explosive! This one was pretty awesome.
