petsitterlyn-49012 - 2 June 2024 I wouldn't include it on my resume... It's just a whole lot of nothing. The acting is awful, the camera angles are senseless and there is hardly a plot, no climax, no continuity other than scenes of people running from one end of the beach to the other. I ended up fast forwarding through it and still couldn't wait for it to end. And nobody got very old. I was expecting scary, dried up old monsters...or something...anything, please. The shiny thing on the hillside wasn't explained, though it was easy to figure out who that was; and the things from the hotel buried in the sand went no further than being discovered. And many of the conversations were ones people would never have. Glad I didn't have to pay for this one.
jakewage - 4 April 2024 This was a movie If you saw the trailer, you saw the movie. Not really anything going on for the entire film. Beach makes people age. The end.
Not sure what the point of this was.
It was surmised that the beach either makes people age because magnets (lol?) or for no real reason at all. In the end, they put people on the beach to test medicine, the bad guys are all arrested, roll credits. I guess this was a movie.
Nothing that happens really matters, you see these characters for 60 seconds before they go to the beach, and 60 seconds after they leave it. There are no plot twists or developments in the story. People either die making stupid choices, or live at the end because they knew the way out the entire time. M night Shamalien is washed up.
nancijgc - 5 February 2024 Soooooo bad Incredibly horrible writing. There wasn't a good actor or line in the entire thing. Everything was delivered unbelievably and with a hollow tinny feel. It was frustrating to sit through the crap just hoping it was going to get better and maybe something would make it worth your while. But no.
Towards the end my 14 year old son asked, "is this supposed to be a comedy?" Bad acting, writing and the plot that actually could have had a chance fizzles out after the first 30 minutes. Too bad M. Night can't write good movies anymore. There were so many missed opportunities. Boring and we honestly laughed throughout.
Simon_Cooper-1 - 18 December 2022 Nothing in this film is going to improve your day I'm not quite sure I ever understand anything this man does. This film starts off like many Hollywood films. People with funny and suspicious accents are disarmingly nice and then things start to go horribly wrong for all of the foreigners that are taken to a certain beach. Then whole thing then temporarily becomes a sort of study of family life throughout one's time on Earth when suddenly it stops being that and becomes a sort of mystery thriller. Neither film is that captivating or satisfying as they do not really connect. It is a very miserable affair and it feels sort of like a 70s flick such as Logan's Run or something like that. It is just not special enough to sit through and feels a bit lost.
rvg-25349 - 1 November 2022 Worth a Watch Don't you just hate reviewers that think that picking apart and overthinking and analyzing everything is to watch a movie, with all the rehashed movies, and mindless marvel movies, this movie isn't as bad as all those negative reviews, go along for the ride and let yourself be entertained and watch it like you are suppose to, if you can't do that then don't review it, you don't know how to be entertained. People who can't watch a movie for what it is, shouldn't criticize. The movie is different from anything else you've seen, that alone is commendable, people say it's badly acted, how do they know are they actors, have they been on that beach, to many self absorbed conceited people trying to appear smart with their know it all attitudes, people who have negative tendencies, and are just naturally unhappy people, should not write reviews, do us all that favor. There are literally thousands of crappy movies out there and I know them when I see them, so don't sit at home and think you more than the actors and director that do it professionally. Sorry I had to rant, but these people get on my nerves.
toonarly - 1 October 2022 Very timely since the Covid plandemic. It goes to show just how far a pharmaceutical company will go to create some medications. The story is enthralling, the characters are very realistic and not superheroes or anything but just the common people of everyday vacations. The story is classic M. Night with all the guessing and interesting twists that make all his films unique and different from any other movies out there. The guy is a genius to say the least and certainly has made his niche in the movie industry. Can't wait to see his next dream come to reality. This is set in an absolutely beautiful location that almost seems surreal which only adds to the suspense. Can't say much more without ruining it. No nudity or woke goofiness whatsoever. Enjoy it😊
