Based on a true tragedy, the emotionally triggering film sheds light on the plight of Kashmiri Pandits (Hindus), a religious minority in the 1990s Kashmir valley, who were compelled to flee their homes by the Islamic militants.
MxS7HGS - 4 March 2024 I didn't like it. I'll be honest, I'm not an expert on Kashmir's history, so I can't judge if the movie got it all right or not. But when it comes to the film itself, I have to say the direction fell short. The screenplay felt scattered, with too many unnecessary flashbacks and no real character development, which made some potentially good scenes lose their impact. Sure, the main cast delivered some powerful moments, but the poor visual effects and weak performances from the supporting actors made it hard to stay engaged. I mean, in this day and age, there's no excuse for shoddy CGI when better options are readily available.
And don't even get me started on that final scene where they supposedly took out 24 or 25 people with one magazine. I mean, come on, even with an extended mag, you can't fit that many bullets. It's just unrealistic and took me out of the movie completely. It's frustrating to see such glaring errors in production. But let's not dwell on that.
I also noticed some heavy-handed messaging that felt like propaganda rather than genuine storytelling. After a while, the predictability of the scenes became tedious and boring. However, credit where it's due, the main cast really held the film together despite its flaws.
aishego - 2 September 2022 Is 9/11 documentary anti-muslim? Is 9/11 documentary anti-muslim?
Is holocaust documentary anti-German?
This is a simple logic, no rocket science involved.
Even an octopus could understand that showing the truth is simply doing the victims a favor, getting their voice heard. Bollywood is simply pathetic for not inviting them to IIFA. It will pay (hope so)
The movie is wonderful, very moving. I did not even know people were forced to eat ... and ... alive. (not using gory words). Thanks for sharing the plight of Kashmiri pandits. In such a small budget, they managed to have an artistic cinematography. Anupam Kher's role and makeup are quite unique. The actors have done a great job.
karenjacksonoveemfb - 17 July 2022 Best Movie everyone should watch. This is one of the best movie in Indian cinema, Bollywood should make such movies, i don't know why they avoid this kind of stories. We should support movies like this. Keep it up, we should appreciate the movie and the creator of the movie.
arptshukla-23629 - 14 June 2022 True Incident The aim of movie is to show the reality of Kashmir in 1990's.
Very good movie, it's real and based on a true story, nothing fictional, totally different and true.
Watch the full movie at least once, you will know the reality.
Deserves 5 stars out of 5, such a true incident.
This type of movie should be made at some regular basis so that everyone can know the truth.
