    Good movie
It's an other perspective on the desaster... Not the government one as on other movies... But in a perspective of a simple firefighter and his family... Is not a piece of art like the HBO one .. but it has his own beauty... As a bad thing is...to much love drama for a movie that presents that kind of a desaster... Another bad thing is the don't keep acurate things of the real story...and they invented some idiotic non sens deaths in the moment's, that is not needed... Over all is a movie that I liked watching... Every body who said is bad.. certainly compares this one with the HBO one that is better than a documentary.

A cheap imitation of the vastly superior HBO Series
No spoilers here, but if you want to watch a movie about Chernobyl.. don't waste your time. Every event, and the timeline itself, is fabricated. There's not an ounce of historical truth here, but plenty of made up drama. Skip, and watch the vastly, vastly superior HBO Series.

    not great, not very bad
It is 85 % about a love story, and 15 % about the happenings of the disaster, 0% about the reasons behind and the responsible people. It is not even close to the mini-series "Chernobyl" from HBO which is the best thing that I have watched for many, many years. Overwhelming tension and fascination and information on what was really was going on back then. Personally, I am very interested in that topic because I was a teen when it happened and I was in Germany. Trust me when I tell you, in reality, they lied in the news and reports. Nothing about the true risks back then. It was ALL about what to eat, and what to avoid eating. Nothing about the real dangers, about the fact that half of the Soviet Union, Eastern Europe and even parts of east Germany have been close to the edge of a disaster for these countries for at least 100 years and millions of deaths! Unimaginable. Back to the movie: watchable if you want to watch a mediocre "drama/action/love story".
