Good... regarding how the movie was made
Since the whole movie has been shot in only 8 days and given the fact that there where almost no scripted lines (at least for Buttlers character), it turned out pretty decent.

But of course that doesn't make the movie as a whole any better. The plot is pretty standard and there are a ton of continuity and logical errors throughout the whole movie. The visual style (Colorgrading) is horrible, not talking about the only Visual Effect in the whole movie which turned out pretty bad.

I asume that this movies budget was very limited and that's probably just all you get for the money. Although Gerard Buttlers acting and improvisation skills made me watch the movie to the end, the movie would have benefited much from a better script.

It wasn't terrible, but rather decent
Now going into this, I was expecting a lot more than what it presented. Not saying I wasn't satisfied, but more un amazed. It's wasn't extremely amazing but it wasn't complexity terrible to sum this movie.

Main actor was phenomenal. The others felt more shoved and forced. Couldn't really feel it. But the camera work in my option was fantastic, and the subtle changes in the music giving that ominous "something's not right" type of feeling. Really good in that area.

Took a little bit of time to get towards the action. Not that I was bored during the beginning, it was very entertaining but 30 mins in, and almost nothing remotely action packed had happened.

But still, not a terrible move. I gotta say I enjoyed it.

Not sure why this is rated so low, it's very good.
Last Seen Alive is a very good thriller, engaging with a tension-filled conclusion, as our protagonist's in hostile territory.

All possibilities are open in the beginning and many still remain at each point, that you're not sure what's around the corner. The part of the wife could've been better though and I'm not sure I believe this drug lab society could function so harmoniously either. The detective also accepting that the cameras don't work without checking is a tad naive too. You'd think though when the cop asks to look in the trunk he'd confess and tell him to contact the detective, but that may cost him time his wife does not have, running however seems pretty optimistic.

    What a shame.
Gerard Butler stars in Last Seen Alive, a film which can be interpreted as an analogy of Mr. Butler's career. It starts off quite well, a semi serious movie regarding the disappearance of Butler's wife at a petrol station. The couple are en route to the wife's parents where she will stay, a separation from her husband while she "sorts her head out" and "finds herself". You see she leads a very privileged life as the wife of a prosperous property agent but just "isn't fulfilled". There are hints that this has happened before and that she has had at least one affair and also suffered mental health issues in the past. In other words an actual adult story line with the potential for a tense and suspenseful mystery thriller. But suddenly Butler goes into psycho mode and starts beating people up and shooting bad guys, blowing up a crystal meth lab in the process. Your standard Gerard Butler movie in other words. What a shame.

Gerard Butler is a hard softy in this movie totally p*ssy-whipped.
It is watchable, one time, and forget. This is a low-cost cheap movie, with b- and c- actors, except Mr. Butler himself.

The plot is all wrong from the start: If my ex-wife to be had gone missing at a scary truckstop, it would be a plus. I would be able to find something better. Good for a one-time watch, the wife is something, but you never get to know the characters, in depth. The whole movie feels forced, and shallow, all shots are most likely one-takes, to save money.

This movie, you get sucked in by Mr. Butler, and than get ripped of by the lack of a good movie. Mr. Butler should have higher standards, when signing for a movie.

Made you look, I won't spoil anything
This is purely the GB show, he actually tries, he gets 4 stars

Jaimie Alexander also seems to try, and is amazingly georgeous 4 stars

Ethan Embry does a great job in the few scenses he's in 1 star

The director and writer get 1 star

Machvegas is not a real estate developer's dream -1 star

No one seems to notice that he's got a slight accent and lives in Manchvegas, developing real estate

Some scends look like they were filmed with a camcorder or whatever they use to make LMN movies (production maybe?) 0 stars

It's an interesting combintation of Breakdown and Vanished 1 star

As a film, it's a solid 4* without Mr. Butler and Ms. Alexander

Watch it if you are a die hard GB fan, as I am.
